“ | Promise? You have to promise, Ban-Ban. I hate being alone... | ” | — Tiki, to Bantu |
---|
Tiki (Japanese: チキ Tiki) is an Archanean manakete and the last of the divine dragon clan, and the daughter of Naga. In her infancy, she was sealed asleep by Naga before her death to prevent her from degenerating along with the rest of the dragonkin. She was later awakened by the fire dragon Bantu, who travelled the world with her, and during this time she befriended and allied with the Hero-King Marth. As an adult, millennia later, Tiki dwelled in Valm and acted as the Voice of the Divine Dragon, an oracle to Naga.
Biography
Early life
Tiki was born some time after the conclusion of Naga's war against the earth dragons, 740 years prior to the foundation of the Kingdom of Archanea. In -500, as one of her last acts prior to her "death", Naga placed Tiki in the Ice Dragon Temple in the continent's far north, putting her into a deep sleep in a bid to prevent her from suffering the same inevitable degeneration as all other dragons.[1] Gotoh, having discarded his own dragonstone, was entrusted by Naga with protecting Tiki during the following millennia.
Bantu and Marth
At some point in the intervening years, Bantu came to the Ice Dragon Temple, took pity on her for her perpetual sleep and imprisonment, and so awoke her and took her into his own care. Initially the two remained at the temple, until Bantu one day took her on a journey to visit a human village, after which the two continued travelling the rest of the world together. During this time, Tiki was frequently plagued by nightmares in which she also degenerated and attacked humans.[2]
Bantu and Tiki travelled together until some time into the War of Shadows, in which the two were separated. Tiki was abducted by Gharnef and taken to the Fane of Raman, where he hypnotized her into his service and tasked her with guarding the Fane from intruders. The two were reunited with the arrival of Marth's army at the Fane, seeking the Starsphere and Lightsphere; Bantu, who had been travelling with Marth in a bid to find her, freed Tiki from her hypnosis and took her back into his care, and the two fought together in the remainder of the war. During this time, Tiki befriended Marth, eventually becoming very close to him. In the war's aftermath, she briefly resumed travelling with Bantu until Gotoh intervened. Gotoh returned her to the Ice Dragon Temple and placed her once more into a deep sleep, knowing she could not be allowed to be awake with the Binding Shield incomplete.[3]
Three years later, during the War of Heroes, Gotoh allowed Tiki to awaken once Marth gathered all twelve shards of the Starsphere, given Marth's intent on collecting the other missing orbs and restoring the Shield.[4] Upon awaking her, Marth swore to protect Tiki for the rest of her life and to allow her to live with him, and Tiki fought in Marth's army for the remainder of the war. Following Medeus's death and the war's end, Tiki and Bantu set out to visit the village she first visited,[5] then came to live with Marth at the Archanean capital following his unification of the continent.[6]
Era of Ylisse
During the intervening millennia, Tiki – now an adult – travelled to Valentia/Valm and took up residence there. At some point worship of Naga became the primary faith of the land, and Tiki became revered by the people of Valm as an oracle to Naga, known as the "Voice of the Divine Dragon".[7] Following the Schism, in which the Binding Shield was once again broken, Tiki took possession of one of its gemstones, Azure.
During the rise of Walhart and his reunification of Valm into an empire, Tiki was taken prisoner by Walhart's army and confined to her temple atop the Mila Tree, under heavy guard. When Chrom of Ylisse arrived in Valm to engage Walhart in a war, his army was guided by Say'ri to the Mila Tree, where they freed Tiki and gained her support for their opposition to Walhart.[8] Tiki's blessing acted as something of a rallying point for the then-fragmented Resistance, but Tiki herself was initially too weak to personally participate in the war.[9] She additionally tasked Chrom and Lucina with collecting the Fire Emblem's gemstones and restoring it to its complete state, in order to perform an Awakening in preparation for the revival of Grima, whose resurging presence she faintly felt.[10]
Shortly afterward, Tiki travelled to Naga's Cradle in the Divine Dragon Grounds, seeking to perform a rite to draw Naga's power from the land and gain the power to join Chrom's army in fighting Walhart.[11] Her meditations required her to focus and not move, and so Chrom's army defended her from a Risen attack seeking to kill her before she could gain power. Once the Risen were defeated and the rite completed, Tiki joined Chrom's army until the end of the war, at which point she returned to Valm.

Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
When transformed into a Divine Dragon, Tiki is four points away from having capped strength; she is capable of one-shotting Dracoknights, as Fog Breath ignores their defense and deals effective damage, giving her use in Chapters 17 and 18. In addition, transformation grants Tiki flight, 1–2 range attacks, and 7 movement. However, as breath attacks have 20 weight, Tiki will always have 0 attack speed and will be unable to double. While the inability to double hampers her offense, enemies are often too slow to double Tiki; when combined with her decent base durability of 36 HP and 14 defense, she will usually not be a liability when in range of multiple enemies. Tiki can also leave enemies in killing range for other units with her consistent initial damage output of 26 and good accuracy. Tiki performs well in the endgame chapters; her high resistance as a Divine Dragon allows her to take attacks from the Meteor tomes common in those chapters, and she deals effective damage to dragons while taking little damage from them at base.
Unlike Bantu, Tiki can use every dragonstone available to the player, each of which is available in the secret shop in Chapter 14—the most notable of these stones are the Magestone and the Wyvernstone. The Magestone transforms Tiki into a Mage Dragon, significantly boosting both her defense and resistance. The Wyvernstone transforms Tiki into a Wyvern, which has slightly less strength than the Divine Dragon, but the highest movement available at 12. These dragonstones are expensive at 18,000 gold each, and the shop can only be accessed by warping a character with the Member Card into an otherwise inaccessible area. Breaths other than the Divine Dragon's Fog Breath also lack effectiveness against the types of dragon that will be encountered past Chapter 14.
As Tiki's HP doubles upon transformation, she gains double the benefit from an Angelic Robe as other characters; with only one Angelic Robe, Tiki will have 50 transformed HP, two points away from the universal cap of 52. Her 0% defense growth can be beneficial in luring enemy dragons, as enemies in Mystery of the Emblem will not attack a character that they cannot damage and she takes only a little damage from them; for this purpose, Tiki is not a good candidate for defense boosts from the Starsphere or Dracoshields unless the player is willing to forgo Tiki's ability to attract enemy dragons in the endgame maps in favor of taking more hits from other enemy types, which is less unique.

Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Tiki's Divinestone gives her a colossal 67 attack power against enemy Manaketes, allowing her to easily one-shot the many Manaketes in the final two chapters on Normal and still deal extreme damage to them on H5. She has very low base Speed, and the endgame Manaketes are extremely fast, meaning she will get follow-up attacked at first. Fire Dragons will 2HKO her, and while Mage Dragons do only a small amount of damage, her low HP can leave her vulnerable if she engages too many at once. She gains EXP very quickly, and she has some of the highest growths in the game, so her HP and offensive stats will skyrocket. On Normal, since she already OHKOs all Manaketes, the main tangible benefit this has is improving her hit rate, because her base hit rate is high but not perfect, and missing against a Fire Dragon will likely get her killed by the counterattack. On H5, heavy favoritism with Energy Drops and experience can get her to the 18 Strength threshold she needs to one-shot endgame Manaketes. She is one of the few characters who can deal heavy damage to Medeus, but since her Speed cap is only 24 when counting the Divinestone boost, she gets doubled by Medeus on higher difficulties. This means she will need defensive investment to survive him, but if she is granted this she becomes the only unit who can go head-to-head with Medeus and feasibly win.
If the Divinestone bonuses would cause Tiki's Defense or Resistance to exceed 30, they will stop at 30. Her Defense base and Resistance growth are too low for this to ever matter under normal circumstances, however.

Fire Emblem Awakening
Role
Tiki is playable, this time as an adult, and has an entire paralogue devoted to her recruitment. She must survive the paralogue in order to be successfully recruited
In addition to adult Tiki's in-game role, the younger form of Tiki is playable as a SpotPass character, released in the Shadow Dragon character set. This younger Tiki is also present as an enemy in the second and third installments of the Lost Bloodlines DLC series.
There is a unique item named for Tiki available through the Barracks or event tiles: Tiki's Tear. It is unknown whether Tiki's Tear is based on the legacy character younger Tiki or on the adult Tiki from the game's actual story; whereas most similar items are named after legacy characters, items named for Awakening-native characters Gaius and Aversa are also available via these means.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE
Role
Tiki appears in the crossover title Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE, with her appearance based on her younger incarnation.[12]
She is a Mirage who has an "Uta-loid" (a parody on Vocaloid) based off of her. Her Uta-loid program was a cover made by Fortuna Studios in their Mirage investigations. Tiki's signature song in Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE is Beastie Game. Many people make songs using her Uta-loid software, the most prominent composer being "TikiIsMyWaifu". Tiki's program brought Uta-loid into mainstream music rather than remaining a niche genre.
Tiki herself performs Unities in the Bloom Palace, which give characters new Carnage and Radiant Skills. Tiki's profile jokingly mentions that the Uta-loid program was released five years prior the events of Tokyo Mirage Sessions on February 28th and the program's filesize is approximately 3GB.

Tiki/ Heroes stats
Role
There are nine different variations of Tiki available to Heroes, five based on her younger Mystery of the Emblem incarnation and four based on her adult Awakening incarnation. The normal young and normal adult variations are two of the characters available to be summoned by players from the game's initial launch. A summer-themed variation of adult Tiki was made available between the period of June 30, 2017 through August 1, 2017 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the Ylissean Summer update, the update where this variation was added to the game; a summer variation of young Tiki was made available between the period of July 10, 2018 through August 10, 2018 as part of the summoning event surrounding the A Sketchy Summer update. A variation of young Tiki termed "Legendary Dragon" was first made available to players on September 28, 2018 as the game's eleventh Legendary Hero. A corrupted variation of young Tiki, based on her brainwashing by Gharnef in Shadow Dragon, was first made available to be summoned by players on May 10, 2019 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the A Home Unknown update. A Halloween variation of young Tiki was made available between the period of October 8, 2020 through November 8, 2020 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the Dragons Harvest update; this variation is a Harmonized Hero, carrying a dual-credit with The Blazing Blade as a result of being paired up with that game's Ninian. A brave variation of adult Tiki, featuring her wearing her childhood outfit from Shadow Dragon, was made available on August 17, 2022 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the God of Openness update. An ascended variation of young Tiki was first made available to be summoned by players on November 18, 2022 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the Askr and Embla update. A Bridal variation of Tiki—lead by her adult form and paired with her child form—was added in the Bridal Dreams update, and was first available to summon from May 19, 2023.
The corrupted version of young Tiki alongside a similar variation of female Corrin introduced in the same update notably bring colorless breath into the normal summoning pool, a weapon type not available in the game at its initial launch and previously exclusive to the Legendary Hero variation of female Robin and the Mythic Hero Duma.
Fire Emblem Warriors
Role
During the main story Tiki, with Marth, Caeda and Navarre, abruptly appears during the ending of Chapter 14 to assist Rowan and Lianna in retreating from the area. Marth's group receives the shortest amount of spotlight before joining, having virtually none, compared to the other recruited characters from Awakening and Fates. It is unclear how Tiki and the others were informed that the twins needed rescue and neither the main story or her supports with any characters appear to ever elaborate on it.
Tiki accompanies Aytolis's forces for the rest of the story and aids in the defeat of Velezark. Upon Velezark's defeat the portals to other worlds begin closing and Marth, along with all the other heroes, are forcibly returned to their home worlds.

Personality
This section has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.
In her childhood, Tiki disliked eating vegetables in their raw state, which led Bantu to take up vegetable pickling in a bid to have them in a form Tiki liked eating.[13]
Tiki is very childish, referring to Bantu as "Ban-Ban" (Japanese: おじいちゃま Grandpa) and Marth as "Mar-Mar" (Japanese: マルスのおにいちゃん Big Brother Marth).
She also tries to give Kris a nickname in their second base conversation in New Mystery of the Emblem: she calls male Kris (Japanese: クリスのおにいちゃん Big Brother Kris) and (Japanese: クリスのおじいちゃま Grandpa Kris), and she calls female Kris (Japanese: クリスのおねえちゃん Big Sister Kris) and (Japanese: クリスのおばあちゃま Grandma Kris), derived from her terms for Marth and Bantu. She also tries (Japanese: クリス様 Lord/Lady Kris) for both genders, based on Lord Gotoh (Japanese: ガトー様 Lord Gato). At the end, Kris decides to go with "Big Brother/Big Sister Kris".
The "Heroes of Shadow" fan translation changes "Big Brother/Big Sister Kris" to "Tar-Tar" (from avatar) and "Grandpa/Grandma Kris" to "Uncool Kris" (a mispronunciation of uncle used for both genders to add humor). It is stated that other children refer to Bantu as "Uncle Bantu", which Tiki attempts to imitate for Kris; this is presumably due to the words for grandfather and uncle being written similarly in hiragana (おじい for grandfather, おじ for uncle).

Project X Zone 2
Tiki appears as an NPC in Project X Zone 2, first appearing, alongside Chrom and Lucina, in "Paralogue 5: The Fire Emblem."
Bio
A descendant of the divine dragon tribe, rulers of the Manakete dragon tribe. The people revere her as an oracle, the Voice of the divine dragon Naga.
She has lived for thousands of years and even fought as a friend alongside the Hero-King Marth. She is intelligent and thoughtful, but she can also be prone to curious leaps in logic, as well as sudden bouts of sleepiness. Her foul moods upon being awakened have become the stuff of legend among the rest of the army.
She joins Chrom to restore peace using the power of the Fire Emblem, a treasure of the Halidom of Ylisse that is said to be able to grant wishes.
Miitomo
As part of a collaboration coinciding with the release of Fire Emblem Heroes, a T-shirt featuring Tiki's younger incarnation as she appears in Heroes was made available in Miitomo. Between February 3rd and March 2nd, 2017, users had the opportunity to purchase the shirt in several colors from the Miitomo Shop.[14]
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Tiki's adult incarnation from Fire Emblem Awakening appears as an assist trophy in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, using recycled voice clips from Fire Emblem Heroes. She transforms into her dragon form, flies to the corner of the stage, and attacks with her flame breath.
Additionally, Tiki appears as two spirits, one as her child incarnation and one as her adult. Tiki is an Advanced Neutral-type spirit, using her art from Shadow Dragon. When equipped by a playable character, Tiki grants three support spirit slots.
Tiki can be enhanced when she reaches level 99, becoming Tiki (Naga's Voice). She is an Ace Neutral-type spirit, using her art from Awakening. When equipped by a playable character, Tiki (Naga's Voice) grants three support spirit slots and increased resistance to fire- and explosion-based attacks.

Tiki is a Divine Dragon and a manakete who can shift between human and draconic forms. She's been around a long time—since the age of Marth, the Hero-King, in fact! | On the continent of Valm, where Divine Dragon worship is prevalent, Tiki was venerated as the Voice of the Divine Dragon. It's no surprise that the belligerent Valmese Empire was after her… | Eventually, the empire succeeded in capturing Tiki—but she was freed by Chrom, the prince of Ylisse, and his allies. | Tiki joined Chrom's group from then on, and helped show the descendant of the Hero-King the way forward! | ||||||

Trivia
- The SpotPass version of Tiki in Awakening shares her battle model with Nowi, as does any manakete-mothered Morgan.
- According to the Fire Emblem 25th Anniversary Staff Book, at some point in the development of Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, Tiki was originally known as "Arion" (Japanese: アリオン Arion) and had a radically different design.
- A tarnished version of Tiki's hairpin from Shadow Dragon is available for units to wear in Fire Emblem Fates if the player asks for a sacred gift from the Marth amiibo or tells him that he or she is not good at swordplay.
- Coincidentally, her voice actress, Mela Lee, also provides the voice of a similarly named character from the French CGI TV series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir called Tikki. The only difference is that Lee voiced Tiki with an RP English accent while she voices Tikki with her normal American accent.
- In Engage, Tiki's eyes in her icon for Player Cards are green as usual for all of her other appearances, despite most Emblems having eyes with a more greyish-purple hue.

- ↑ "They put the newly born Tiki to sleep and thus ended their 5,000-year life. 'Cause of all this, Gotoh's tryin' his best to carry out Naga's order." — Xane, Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem
- ↑ "Uhh... not really. Lord Gotoh said that I had to sleep again. But... I don't wanna. I slept all by myself for a really long time. I had so many scary dreams, over and over. I dreamt I ended up like the poor fire dragons and ice dragons... That I was a terrifying monster. I'd attack humans and kill them. "No...", "Stop..." they'd shout, and then I'd wake up. All alone, in this pitch black room... I cried so much. And each time, Ban-Ban comforted me. Then, one day he took me out, and brought me to a human village. The village life was so fun! Everyone treated me so nice... I was really happy. I don't wanna sleep anymore... Next time I close my eyes, I feel as though I'll never open them again. I don't want that. I want to live with everyone. I don't want to sleep." — Tiki, Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem
- ↑ "I see. You couldn't collect them all... I suppose it couldn't be helped... Nevertheless, I will take what shards you have. Tiki is sleeping in the room to the right, but since the shield has not been restored, I cannot let you meet her. She has yet to mature into an adult. Without the Binding Shield, her degeneration is but inevitable. In time, she will turn into a beast and attack humanity. I'm afraid Tiki cannot ever be allowed to awaken again. 'Tis for her own good... Marth, if you have taken the treasures, then head to the room to the left. I shall await you there..." — Gotoh, Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem
- ↑ "Without the shield, she too will degenerate.. In time, she will turn into a beast and attack humanity. I took pity on her and sent her to sleep. But if the Binding Shield is restored, we will no longer have to worry. The shield will protect Tiki. Marth, I leave Tiki in your hands. Please free her from her destruction." — Gotoh, Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem

- ↑ "Mar-Mar!! Does this mean I don't need to go back to the Ice Dragon Shrine anymore? I'm so happy! I love being with everyone, after all. I don't want to be all alone ever again. Tiki: Yes, but ever since, there have been those who would change that. Grima's life force grows even now, and with it, the long shadows of despair.
Lucina: ......
Chrom: When will he return? And where?
