Freyr

Not to be confused with Frey, a playable character in Shadow Dragon and New Mystery of the Emblem.

Freyr (Japanese: フロージ Fróði) is a character appearing in Fire Emblem Heroes. He is stated to be the Dream-King, and is a benevolent figure who assists the Order of Heroes while in his realm of Ljósálfheimr.

Role

Freyr was first mentioned in Chapter 2 of Book IV twice by Peony, who has given the Order of Heroes the goal of meeting him in hopes he can help rescue the missing Kiran. He first physically appears in Chapter 3, in which he bestows the horn Gullinkambi, capable of waking dreamers, on the Order, but reveals that that point is neither place nor time to make usage of it—it will not sound outside Ljósálfheimr, and should not be sounded while dökkálfar roam the land. He is, however, unable to provide information about Kiran.

There are two different variations of Freyr appearing Heroes. A summer-themed variation of Freyr was made available between July 7, 2021 through August 7, 2021 as part of the summoning event accompanying the Summer's Dream update. The normal variation of Freyr was made playable as a Mythic Hero, and was first available to summon from July 28 to August 10 of 2023.

Estival Dreams Dream-King

Freyr: Estival Dreams
Someone pinch me, because I must be dreaming! Not only is Freyr, the Dream-King of Ljósálfheimr here, but most surprising of all, he's wearing a swimsuit!	It's a strong look, and certainly in stark contrast to his usual appearance. Still, while he might have ditched his robes in favor of a significantly lighter look, he's still wearing a cape to demonstrate his regal authority. I guess that must be a king thing…	And what's that in his hand? Why, it's a cool, refreshing pineapple juice! I see it has two straws, so he must be meaning to share it with his sister, Freyja!	Freyr typically looks calm and serene, but I think I can see a little smile on his face. I hope he and Freyja have a wonderful time at the beach!

Freyr: Dream-King
Freyr is the gentle and compassionate king of Ljósálfheimr. He's originally from Vanaheimr, the realm of light, and is also known as the god of plenty!	After leaving Vanaheimr, Freyr established Ljósálfheimr together with his sister, Freyja. But their kingdom nearly perished when humans forgot about dreams…	Hoping to save the world of dreams and soothe the hearts of people, Freyr lifted some human children out of unfortunate circumstances and transformed them into álfar. He felt conflicted about intervening so directly in people's fates, though.	After our encounter with Freyja, Freyr sacrificed himself to save us. I hope he'll now be able to make the rest of his dreams come true in Askr!
