“ | Pardon me, you mannerless cur! I'll not stand to be laughed at by a base scoundrel of your ilk! | ” | — Maribelle, speaking to Brady for the first time |
---|
Noble Lineage (Japanese: 気高き血統 Noble pedigree) is the seventh paralogue chapter in Fire Emblem Awakening. As a paralogue chapter, its events are not integral to the game's main storyline and can be done at the player's leisure. The chapter is unlocked after Chapter 13 is cleared and Maribelle has unlocked her S support; additionally, the player must clear Chapter 15, clear Chapter 14 and unlock Paralogue 6, or unlock Paralogues 12 and 6.
In this chapter, the Shepherds are tasked with protecting the ruins of a Mila Shrine, along with the villagers and priest therein. The priest, Brady, reveals himself to be the son of Maribelle.

Noble Lineage/Script
A bandit named Xalbador enters the ruins of a Mila Shrine and kills the elder that attempts to remove him. Brady threatens Xalbador, but a villager tells him to get back and tend to the injured, and Brady berates his own inability to fight. Outside the shrine, Maribelle informs Chrom that there is a battle ahead, and he orders the Shepherds to aid in the battle.
If Chrom talks to Brady and is not his father, Brady first thinks Chrom is an enemy; eventually Chrom reveals his name, and Brady then reveals that he is Maribelle's son from the future and joins Chrom. If Chrom is Brady's father, both claim to be Ylissean royalty then realize that they are father and son; Brady expects to be considered a disappointment for his inability to fight, but Chrom is proud that he choses to heal people. If Maribelle talks to Brady, Brady immediately recognizes her as his mother, but Maribelle is put off by his mannerisms and leaves.
After the battle, an elder will thank Chrom for aiding them; depending on how many NPC villagers survived, the elder rewards Chrom or may ask him to leave. Brady then confronts Maribelle, calling her "ma"; Maribelle initially does not believe Brady is her son, and believes that he has stolen her ring until he points out she still has hers. Maribelle chastises Brady for his poor manners, but eventually the two begin to cry from their meeting.

Note: The returning characters list only those recruited by the time this chapter is unlocked. As a paralogue chapter, there is no set timeframe in which the chapter must be taken on; thus, it is possible to have recruited more characters than the above by the point the chapter is started. The returning characters list also does not include any characters recruitable in other paralogues, as the player may not have taken on any other available paralogue chapters yet. The list also does not include any bonus units, as they are recruitable at the player's discretion.
