Chikaomi Tsurugi (Japanese: 剣 親臣 Chikaomi Tsurugi) is a side story character appearing in Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE
Role
Five years prior to the events of Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE, Chikaomi played the lead in a performance of the play "The Pilgrimage of Heinrich" alongside his co-star Ayaha Oribe. Kiria Kurono, Chikaomi's son Yashiro Tsurugi, and Ayaha's younger sister Tsubasa Oribe were among those in attendance. However, in the middle of the play Gharnef took control of Chikaomi, transporting everyone in the theater to the Idolasphere with the exception of Tsubasa, who was rescued by Tiki. This event became known as the "Mass Disappearance".
Within the Idolasphere, Gharnef attempted to use Chikaomi's body and the Performa of the people present to perform the Opera of Shadows, which would resurrect the Shadow Dragon Medeus. However, Chikaomi resisted Gharnef's control and eventually gave his life to save his son Yashiro. Gharnef took Chikaomi's Performa for protection, and searched for another human vessel to control instead. Chikaomi's soul wandered the Idolasphere until it was found by the Mirage Lon'qu, who agreed to preserve Chikaomi's soul so the latter could watch over Yashiro's growth. Independently, Yashiro and Kiria became Mirage Masters with Tharja and Navarre, and escaped back to Tokyo.
Chikaomi would maintain contact with Yashiro's Mirage Navarre as time went on, though Navarre would keep this a secret from Yashiro.
Chikaomi's Performa and Gharnef would later become connected to Yatsufusa Hatanaka, who used the Performa to create an inpenetrable barrier. However, Itsuki was able to use Yashiro's Performa to extract Chikaomi's from Hatanaka, and it floated away after being freed.
In the side story Final Act, Yashiro takes a role for a villain in a live-action hero TV show, but cannot grasp the concept of an enemy he respects, rather than an enemy that is to be hated. Navarre and Chikaomi orchestrate an encounter where Yashiro must "save" his father from Lon'qu, who has supposedly consumed his soul for personal gain. After the battle, Chikaomi reveals the ruse, and Yashiro understands the concept of respect born in battle. Chikaomi regards this as his final lesson to his son, and ascends into rays of light in the sky, finally at rest.
Personality
Acting was Chikaomi's "one and only passion" according to his son Yashiro, which inspired the latter to follow in his footsteps. Chikaomi was a loving father but also a strict teacher, instructing Yashiro to think only of improving his craft. Yashiro would follow this mantra dutifully, even after Chikaomi's passing.

Trivia
- Chikaomi is the only parent of any of the main characters in Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE to make a physical appearance in the game.
- Chikaomi is the only known instance of someone surviving after losing all of their Performa - Azusa Maekawa died when Pheros consumed her Performa whole, and Yatsufusa Hatanaka is heavily implied to have died after offering all of his Performa to Gharnef.
