Renewal (chapter)/Script
In the aftermath of Emmeryn's death, the Shepherds make to retreat. A group of Plegian brigands arrive to cut off their escape, forcing the Shepherds to fight their way to their escape. As the battle progresses, some soldiers begin to show a reluctance to fight after Emmeryn's sacrifice, only remaining out of personal loyalty to their commander Mustafa. The Shepherds prevail, and with the aid of a dancer named Olivia flee to Ferox. The Shepherds lament Emmeryn's death and Chrom expresses doubt at his own ability to live up to his sister's ideals, but Robin and the Shepherds convince him of his capability. The two khans affirm Ferox's support in putting an end to Gangrel's tyranny, and the Shepherds prepare to dethrone Gangrel.
Summary
Emmeryn's death devastates Chrom, but Robin offers words of support. They depart for Plegia to settle matters with King Gangrel once and for all.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
Beware that on Lunatic and Lunatic+, all enemies will start wielding Silver weapons and Arc-tomes as standard issue. Your biggest priorities are killing the four Thieves on the map before they escape on turn 5 with some nice treasure. It's also worth keeping an eye on the fortresses that spawn reinforcements. Bringing fliers is a good idea, especially if Robin is a Dark Flier. Charge either west or north, killing the first two Thieves you encounter and wiping out the enemy on enemy phase. Then make for the northwest corner of the map to cut off the other two Thieves' escape. Once they're dead, bunker down and focus on surviving. If you have combat-capable units other than Robin, you can send them in whatever direction Robin doesn't go to assassinate the Thieves. Once you've taken down all enemies, the map is won. Mustafa shouldn't prove too troubling.
Trivia
- This chapter is one of few chapters in the game where the preparations theme doesn't play during that phase of setup. In this case, the music from the preceding cutscene continues onto the battle preparations screen.
- The music that plays during battle in this chapter does not change in any way whatsoever between the map, the player phase battle, and the enemy phase battle; the music also continues when facing the boss, despite bosses normally playing a completely different piece of music from the main battle.
- When Chrom gets words of encouragement from the Shepherds, Miriel, Gaius and Cordelia are the only ones absent.
