Hostilities/Script
Alear has a brief dream where they stand alone, with pure red hair and an sinister smile, amid flaming ruins. They soon wake up with a start, and Marth appears to console them. Alear then asks him what they were like in the past, to which Marth responds by advising them to ease into their memories slowly. A tremor occurs, and the two head out into the castle's hallway, where they find Vander, Clanne, and Framme, as well as a group of mysterious soldiers who have broken into the Ring Vault. The group swiftly move forward, intent on aiding Lumera. Though initially overwhelmed by the initial group, Prince Alfred of Firene rides in alongside his retainers Etie and Boucheron to aid Alear and their group.
The group defeats the enemy soldiers and moves forward, only to find a mysterious hooded girl blocking their path. The girl unleashes a fatal wave of dark magic against Alear, but Lumera swoops in to take the blast in their place. Lumera then attempts to blast the girl back, but she simply runs off, dropping a strange crystal. Now on the ground dying, Lumera attempts to comfort her child, who cries in front of her. Framme attempts to heal Lumera, but to no avail; she states that Lumera's Divine Dragon powers are almost completely gone, and with them, years of her life. Lumera reveals that she had spent the past thousand years transferring those powers into Alear to bring them back to her. As Alear grieves, Lumera gifts them the Ring of the Holy Knight, and urges them to gather all the rings and fight against Sombron. Alear accepts, but remains in denial of their mother's dying state, begging that they could continue to live together. Lumera attempts to comfort Alear, and uses her last words to pinky promise them that the two will be together forever, and that she will still talk once they have rested. Lumera then gives out completely, and Alear continues to grieve over her.
Some time later, Alear and the others hold a funeral for Lumera. Marth and Sigurd lament their inability to save her, with the latter pledging to protect Alear in her absence. Marth wishes that he could grant her the Emblems' full power right then and there, though he realize that doing so is impossible without all twelve present. After Alfred apologizes for being unable to do more, he explains that he came to Lumera in the first place to request for aid in freeing his home of Firene from the Corrupted. Though initially reluctant, Alear agrees to come with Alfred in Lumera's stead; they take responsibility as the new Divine Dragon, seeking the Emblem Ring of Firene as well.
Before heading out, Vander suggests that Alear use the Somniel as a base of operations, reasoning that Alear can use their power as the Divine Dragon to travel there from anywhere in the world safely. Alear agrees, but first returns to the castle's throne room to give one last goodbye to their mother. They promise to fulfill their duty as Divine Dragon, and to return to her some day. At the Somniel, Vander shows Alear the crystal that the mysterious girl dropped during the battle. Though he initially wishes to dispose of it, Alear requests to keep it, saying that it feels familiar, to which Vander obliges.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
Your new units are Alfred, Etie, and Boucheron. Alfred is a mediocre cavalryman, Etie is a solid early Archer with enough power to one-shot fliers for a while, and Boucheron is an Axe Fighter who introduces the concept of chain attacks. If you attack any unit within Boucheron's immediate attack range, he will take off 10% of the enemy's HP 80% of the time. This doesn't seem like much at first glance, but when you're fighting mountain-sized dragons with four health bars, it adds up.
Move Vander down one and left two so he can fight the enemy Lance Fighter, move Clanne left one space, move Alear to Clanne's old spot, and move Framme to Vander's right. Make sure to keep the spot below where Alear is standing now clear - we want Etie to spawn there. On turn 2, Alfred and his retainers join you. Your objective is to have Alfred break the wounded Sword Fighter, Clanne finish him off, Vander break the nearby Lance Flier, Framme finish her off, Alear Lodestar Rush the healthy Sword Fighter, Boucheron finish off the wounded Lance Fighter, and Etie one-shot the further-out Lance Flier. Vander and Framme will need Divinely Inspiring to get this done. Once they're dead, the next three Lance Fliers should be easy kills. Once Alear's Engage expires, give them the Emblem energy and move Alfred to their north to face the next two Sword Fighters. Keep your axe-wielders and Etie to the right side. The rest of the enemy force will aggro, including the boss Abyme. Sadly, her Veteran+ skill nullifies effective damage against her, so Alear's Rapier is useless. Instead, use Vander to block her approach. Kill all four Lance Fliers and Sword Fighters. Alear can use a Lodestar Rush to delete the enemy Archer, while Clanne melts right through Abyme.
