The Wyvern's Dale/Script andThe Wyvern's Dale/Conversations
The Altean Army goes on to the Wyvern's Dale, a valley on the border of Macedon and Dolhr. This place is occupied by wild wyverns and barbarians. To his surprise, Marth meets the Macedonian prince, Michalis, in a village. Michalis tells Marth he stole the tome Starlight from Gharnef, while getting wounded in the progress. He wants Marth and Minerva to save Maria.
After seizing the gate, Gotoh tells that the earth dragons have been slumbering in the Dragon's Altar, and won't wake up for a long time. He realizes that Gharnef wants to revive Medeus with the kidnapped clerics, since he needs the life force of pure women for that. They then head inside the building.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
There are a lot of Wyverns on this map, so it is easy to get caught off guard by them. To avoid that, you can mark their attack range. You can use fliers as well to bait them on the mountains, so your other units can move more freely. There are also four Sorcerers with Meteor on the map, so you will have to take their range into account as well. Some can also be picked off by your flying units, especially if they have a Pure Water.
There are three thieves moving towards the village in the northeast. It is important to intercept them quickly, or they'll destroy the village and you won't be able to get Starlight to battle Gharnef. Michalis is also in this village, and can be recruited if Minerva waits on the village entrance before Turn 15. However, his usefulness is not very great, and you should already have a strong group of units to go into the final chapters with. You can therefore easily skip his recruitment.
This is also the last chapter where you can buy things and enter the arena. Be sure to stock up on powerful weapons if you don't have them already. You can sell any horseslaying or armorslaying weapons, since you won't need them in the upcoming chapters. There are also a lot of stat boosters in the secret shop. It costs 30,000 gold with a silver card to buy them all, excluding the Arms Scrolls.
Trivia
- A location in Fire Emblem Awakening, "Wyvern Valley", shares its Japanese name with both this chapter and the location that this chapter takes place in.
