History[]
Yoshi's Island DS[]
Stompin' Chomps appear in Yoshi's Island DS, in this game, they are prominently found in World 5 appearing in Rompin' Stompin' Chomps and The Cave That Never Ends. Stompin' Chomps bounce on the ground with a loud bang, they can either bounce in place or bounce around whilst moving around at varying speeds. Stompin' Chomps are also capable of destroying sand blocks making traversing the terrain slightly harder once they’re done with the sand flooring, both the levels the Stompin' Chomps appear in are autoscrolling levels which makes timing their movements slightly more unpredictable. Stompin' Chomps are completely indestructible and there is no attack that can defeat them however, they can be hit with eggs which causes them to appear in the Museum.
Trivia[]
- Stompin' Chomps are the only Chomp variety in Yoshi's Island DS to appear in another level in addition to Rompin' Stompin' Chomps as the Incoming Chomp and Chomp Shark only appear in the aforementioned level.
