Sluggies are hairy slug enemies from the Yoshi's Island series. They first appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and return in Yoshi's New Island.

Physical description[]

They come in two colors: pink with red spots and yellow with blue spots. Pink appears to be the primary color for Sluggies, given that it has standalone artwork for Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and is the only color for Sluggy in Yoshi's New Island.

Behavior[]

Sluggies can fall onto a Yoshi from a ceiling. The pink Sluggies do not move while on the ceiling whereas the yellow ones do so slowly. If a Yoshi is nearby, a Sluggy attempts to land on him. Both types of Sluggies move while on the ground.

In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island[]

Sluggies only appear in one level, Sluggy The Unshaven's Fort. It also is where a giant Sluggy named Sluggy the Unshaven is fought.

In Yoshi's New Island[]

Sluggies appear in the level Ready, Steady, Go!.
