Flashing Eggs are a type of Yoshi Egg featured exclusively within the Yoshi's Island series. They make their overall debut in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and later return in Yoshi's New Island. Flashing Eggs are very uncommon, and only appear in a few levels due to each of them containing one of the Red Coins of that level. To release the Red Coin, Yoshi has to break open the Flashing Egg by throwing it at an enemy.

Description[]

The spots on a Flashing Egg rapidly flashes between different colors, and while they are never shown to not alternate between colors, the standard color of the spots of a Flashing Egg is purple, as suggested from their artwork for Yoshi's New Island.
