Hookbill the Koopa is a Koopa Troopa who was transformed into a Gargantua Koopa Troopa by Kamek's magic. He made his first appearance in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island[]

Hookbill is the boss of World 4, where he is encountered in his own castle at the end, aptly named Hookbill the Koopa's Castle. When Yoshi and Baby Mario enter the area where Hookbill is found, there is fog until they reach the top. Hookbill and Kamek are located here, the fog clears, and Kamek turns Hookbill giant to fight Baby Mario and Yoshi.

Battle[]

To beat Hookbill, Yoshi must first throw eggs at the Koopa until he falls. Then, Yoshi must stomp on Hookbill's stomach. Keep doing that and Yoshi will beat him. Yoshi can also pound on his shell to get more eggs to use against him. After finished off, Hookbill's large shell breaks and he goes into the air and falls off the platform.

In Tetris Attack[]

Hookbill is the eighth boss of Vs. Mode in the Game Boy version and the ninth in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System version.
