- Steady Lance can prevent the foe from counterattacking.
- A foe with skills such as Null C-Disrupt 4 or Null C-Disrupt E will be able to counterattack.
- A foe with Mystic Boost 4 will only be able to counterattack against Staff units.
- A foe with Ice-Bound Brand, Ice-Crystal Spear, Nifl's Bite, or Holy Yule Blade will only be able to counterattack against ranged units.
- A unit using Steady Lance and Null C-Disrupt 4 is unaffected by Steady Lance's counterattack prevention.

- The refined version listed first has the same effect as Darting Blow 3.
- "If unit initiates combat" means if the user starts combat during the player phase. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- The stat increase that can be applied by Steady Lance is considered a temporary buff.
