Biology
Physiology
Sylveon is a quadruped mammalian Pokémon with white colored fur covering most of its slender body. The top of its head is a vibrant shade of pink, and it has long pink rabbit‐like ears with dark blue insides. Sylveon has a short, blunt catlike muzzle and a small black nose. Sylveon's skin is arranged to form pink and white bows on its right ear and around its neck. Attached to the bowlike skin are ribbonlike feelers with pink and blue tips that curl around Sylveon's body. It has four slender legs, small dainty pink‐tipped paws, and feet with three visible toes on each. Sylveon has two large blue eyes with white pupils and two pointed teeth on its upper jaw, seen when its mouth is open. It has a fluffy pink tail that curves inward slightly to form a crescent shape, possibly a reference to the moon phase.
The Shiny variation of Sylveon has inverse coloration, with blue and red fur (replacing the pink patches and the blue in its ears) and reddish‐pink eyes.
Behavior
Sylveon is a kind and gentle Pokémon; one uses its charm to hunt in the wild. They use their ribbonlike feelers to hold hands with their Trainers and walk alongside them, enabling them to sense the feelings of their Trainers. They can bring even the most intense battles to a halt by using their feelers to exude an aura of peace and tranquillity, causing those near them to lose their fighting spirit, before they strikes a powerful and unexpected attack. Their movements are graceful and fluid, making them appear to be almost weightless. They are known to captivate or charm others with a gentle, calming, and rather adorable "Nyaaah~" noise, which they often make when using moves such as Attract or Charm to enchant a target.
Sylveon are also very attractive to other Pokémon, which provides their an advantage on luring prey with their appearance in the wild through deception. This means that they can enamour a predator or a prey item with their charming looks, and gain an advantage. Despite having an adorable and graceful appearance, Sylveon are heavily implied to be carnivorous according to Pokédex entries.
When riled up, Sylveon will become fearless and will not hesitate to strike, no matter how large its opponents are. Galarian fairy tales have even depicted tales of Sylveon defeating ferocious dragon Pokémon.
Sylveon are most commonly found in urban areas, as it relies humans to evolve it from Eevee with strong friendships. Only few are spotted in the wild.
Natural abilities
Sylveon can exude a peacefully soothing aura from their ribbon-like organs to tranquilize their foes or prey. They can wrap and strangle quarrellers with their long extensible feelers as well.
Evolution
Eevee evolves into Sylveon when leveled up knowing a Fairy‐type move and gaining at least two Affection hearts in Pokémon‐Amie or Pokémon Refresh. Starting from Generation VIII, it evolves via high friendship with a Fairy‐type move.

Appearances
Anime
Sylveon first appeared in the short film Eevee & Friends. Sylveon also appeared in "Kindergarten Chaos!", which belonged to a woman named Penelope. In the episode, it battled against Ash's Froakie and won after using the move Draining Kiss on Froakie, who had already been hit by Attract earlier in the battle, enthralling him with love. Sylveon, along with Pikachu, was later captured by Team Rocket and rescued by Ash and Randell. It was last seen with its trainer waving goodbye to Ash and his friends.
Valerie used a Sylveon against Ash's Fletchinder during the Gym battle.
Serena's Eevee evolved into a Sylveon during a tag battle at a dance party in "Party Dancecapades".

Origin
Sylveon's overall appearance appears to take inspiration from cats and rabbits, and possibly the Asian Moon Rabbit due to fairies being known for their activity under moonlight. The Asian Moon Rabbits are also known for being companions with Chang'e, a Chinese moon goddess that wears a robe with many ribbons, which may be the inspiration for Sylveon's ribbon motif.
Etymology
Sylveon comes from sylvan (meaning of the forest, due to legends of fairies residing in forests) and eon (a long period of time). Its name may also derive either from sylph or sylvan, both of which share the Latin root silva, the Latin word for forest. In mythology, forests are often depicted as places where fairies and nymphs can be found.
Its Japanese name, Nymphia, comes from nymph, a fairylike deity that resides in certain landforms.
