Attacks Eats Pikmin

The Burrowing Snaglet is a small snagret in Pikmin: Elemental Speciation. It has an appearance similar to that of the Burrowing Snagret, but smaller, and with its lower body protruding from a large egg instead of the ground. It hops around like a Pileated Snagret and pecks at nearby Pikmin, snatching up to two of them, at which point it will retreat into its eggshell, where it takes less damage from attacks, to eat them. Upon death, its remains are recoverable, but when spawned by another enemy, it leaves behind two drops of nectar instead, similarly to a Bulborb Larva.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This juvenile stage of the Burrowing Snagret seems to, from birth, be a capable hunter. As a child, it uses the safety of its reinforced eggshell in place of burrowing into the ground as the musculature needed for it to burrow has not yet developed.

Louie's notes

Have you ever eaten a hard-boiled egg, but found yourself disappointed at the lack of protein? Well, you can cook these infant beasts in the exact same way you make a hard-boiled egg, and come out with a meaty treat instead of just boring old hard-boiled eggs.

Shacho's notes

I can't think of much practical use for these creatures, but they are surprisingly cute for the deadly beasts they grow up into. I'm sure they'd be a great pet if we brought them back, if their savage instinct could be tamed.

Attacks Eats Pikmin

The Downy Snagret is an enemy in Pikmin: Interstellar Cryptid. It resembles its Pikmin 4 incarnation. Feeble in nature, the Downy Snagret is a juvenile Burrowing Snagret that lives on land. It hops around on its one foot and eats Pikmin it crosses. They are relatively easy to defeat due to their size and lack of defense.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Fledgling burrowing snagrets lack the muscle development needed to bore through the ground like their parents. Because of this, the chicks will stick close to their parents and remain in a "nesting place" that the parents will monitor. Using imprinting, the chicks can recognize their parents simply by their cry. However, it can only recognize organisms that are tall, blue, and make that familiar snagret call. Because of this, it is unlikely to mistake other organisms as its parents.

Louie's notes

Although it looks like a giant hopping drumstick, it's actually better to mince the meat and roll it into little meatballs. It has a satisfying crunch and juicy taste that I can't resist.

Bentley's notes

While they may be cute, their beaks are capable of biting through their prey like cracking open a hazelnut... Don't tell Eloise's uncle I said that.

Eloise's notes

The swab-of-cotton head contrasted with the shiny scales on its body make it look a bit dainty and antiquated. It's like a piece of porcelain you'd find in your grandparent's house. I should know, my grandparents kept a lot of porcelain jars with these blue floral patterns.

A baby snavian? Interesting. – The ship, upon discovering the Downy Snagret

The Downy Snagret is a species of snavian that appears in Pikmin: Pitstop. Since they are juvenile Burrowing Snagrets, they resemble their adult form, having a slender, blue body covered in scales, a black, three-toed foot with white claws, and a round head covered in feathers. The Downy Snagret has two eyes with blue sclerae and black pupils surrounded by a yellow keratin lining, and a small, yellow beak with a blue tip.

Downy Snagrets hop about their territory, generally unaware of their surroundings. Pikmin have to get very close to one for it to notice them, where it will hop over to them and eat them one at a time. If attacked, the Downy Snagret will attempt to flee, but it moves around quite slowly. The Downy Snagret can be found in nectar eggs, popping out when the egg is broken. Very rarely, the Downy Snagret may scream, which has a 5% chance to summon a Burrowing Snagret.

Downy Snagrets can easily be defeated by being swarmed with Pikmin. The player can also throw Pikmin directly on it to deal more damage. If led into water, the Downy Snagret will move slightly slower, as it's not as fast in water compared to most enemies.

Louie’s notes

I would NEVER eat a baby animal. Well... actually... it does look pretty delicious. Maybe just one bite wouldn't hurt?

Overlord’s insight

Downy Snagrets are generally reliant on their mothers for support, so they spend most of their life underground. They dig insects out of the ground to eat or find insects in the grass as well. Since the Burrowing Snagret is a k-selected species, that means the Burrowing Snagret will lay its life down to protect its few offspring, as opposed to other animals here that produce hundreds of offspring and let them fend for themselves. So maybe Louie should be careful with these fledglings.

Attacks Eats and confuses Pikmin

In Pikspore, the Snagret Chick is the infant form of the Burrowing Snagret, much like how the Bulborb Larva is an infant form of many grub-dog species. Its head is covered in fluffy down feathers that scatter around when it shakes its head, and its body is covered in off-white scales. It can eat Pikmin, but only one at a time. It also scatters the down feathers around when it retreats underground, confusing all Pikmin within the radius. A trio of them appear in Cliffside Meadow on day thirty-one and will mature into adult snagrets if left alone for too long.
