Fireflinger Groink

The Fireflinger Groink is a fish-like organism with some robotic parts, and looks very similar to the Gatling Groink. It has a large detection radius, and repeatedly spits large fireballs from its mouth-cannon that rain down from above and can kill Pikmin and harm leaders.

The Fireflinger Groink is a species of shot-fish in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. They are the smallest of the species, aside from the Juvenile Groink. They have a flaming, magma body, two white legs, and a translucent plate of armor that covers the front of their face. Two golden eyes with black pupils pop out from the side of the groink, and two copper steam pipes pop out of the top of the creature and emit a constant stream of smoke.
The Fireflinger Groink will wander around the area, like most groinks. However, they are much faster than a regular Gatling Groink. When they see Pikmin, they will open up their mouths, extending a cannon. They will then fire a large ball of lava into the air, causing it to erupt and rain droplets of lava down onto the Pikmin. This lava will light up any Pikmin not immune to fire. The armor of the Fireflinger Groink makes it immune to attacks from the front. The lava covering the groink adds another layer of armor. If attacked, they will shake off Pikmin violently. The shake of a groink is one of the most powerful, as it will always deflower Pikmin and fling them far distances.
The Fireflinger Groink can be dangerous. They’re best taken out by Red Pikmin, Snapdragon Pikmin, and Statue Pikmin, as they are all immune to the lava of the creature. Due to the size of the Fireflinger Groink, it can easily be taken out by a large group of Pikmin. Unlike the Gatling Groink, the Fireflinger Groink does not regenerate its health when defeated.
In Overlord mode, the Fireflinger Groink will create a small trail of lava wherever it walks.

- “The Fireflinger Groink is an example of a biomechanical organism that utilizes its technology to its advantage. The volatile pellets it uses for ammunition are replaced by a magmatic stomach acid it spits out into the air through its cannon snout. The groink periodically douses itself in its stomach acids to add an extra layer of magma as defense against predators. It’s a good combination with the chitinous armor plating it has as well.”

- “A beast with meat that has a sour taste. It’s unfortunately useless in terms of consumption, but it still holds a good use. Its stomach acids can be used as a source of heat to cook your foods, as opposed to using a conventional oven. If you’re stuck in a college dorm room, this magma might be up your alley.”

The Enraged Groink is a relative of the Gatling Groink appearing in Pikmin: The After Years. Unlike its relative, the Enraged Groink spews a jet of fire from its mouth-cannon instead of shooting explosive mortars. It has a red body and blue pupils. The Enraged Groink stomps about at a fast pace, and chases after Pikmin or leaders it sees. It will then approach them and begin blowing fire at them, which can be devastating. Any Pikmin can attack this creature, but Red Pikmin are unaffected by its attack. Purple Pikmin are useful in stunning it, and leaders can defeat it quickly if the Crystallized Rage upgrade has been obtained.
