Colossal Koopa Paratroopas are a giant variation of Koopa Paratroopa. They first appear in Super Mario Bros. 3.

Super Mario Bros. 3[]

In Super Mario Bros. 3, Colossal Paratroopas appear in Giant Land alongside Grand Goombas, Gargantua Koopa Troopas, and Piranhacus Giganticus. They attack by hopping up and down. Their larger size does make them more troublesome to avoid but despite this, they are no stronger than a regular Paratroopa and a single stomp can knock loose the wings turning it into a Gargantua Koopa Troopa. Additionally, the use of the Fire Flower, Hammer Suit, Super Leaf, Tanooki Suit, and the Starman can easily destroy a Colossal Paratroopa.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars[]

In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, a similar species to the Colossal Paratroopa called the Tub-O-Troopa and the Heavy Troopa appears.

Super Mario Maker[]

Colossal Paratroopas also appear in Super Mario Maker as well as its two sequels. In these games, they can be produced by applying wings to a Gargantua Koopa Troopa or applying a Super Mushroom to a Paratroopa. This is also the first game where a Red Colossal Paratroopa appears (like their smaller counterparts the red ones float rather than hop). The Colossal Paratroopas can be defeated in the same way as before.
