The Weird Mushroom is an item which appears in Super Mario Maker. It turns Mario into Weird Mario, giving him a taller and slenderer look (somewhat like Waluigi's appearance), along with giving him the abilities of Luigi, such as his increased jumping ability but less traction. The item can be found randomly in replacement for regular Mushrooms; however, the chances are very rare. However, the item can be placed on its own after completing every sample course, then completing the Nintendo World Championship courses. Once done, the player can shake a Mushroom to transform it into a Weird Mushroom.

The item does not return in Super Mario Maker 2, although Weird Mario himself has made a few brief appearances.

• This power-up was based off a glitch in Super Mario Maker's beta were if Mario got a Super Mushroom as Little Mario, his Little sprite would stretch to fill in 2 blocks
