A nectar egg is a white, semi-round object that, when broken, can release nectar, although it can also release other things such as sprays and even Mitites. In Pikmin 4, giant nectar eggs can be found, and will release several blobs of nectar when broken.

In Pikmin: Interstellar Cryptid, nectar eggs are similar to how they are in Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers, but can no longer drop bomb rocks, and all droplets of nectar are consistent in size. Nectar eggs have a chance of hatching into Mitites, Sunsquishes, Downy Snagrets, Speedeyes, and Yolky Filthags upon being destroyed, though this does not apply to the nectar eggs carried by Honeywisps. Kabob Nectarsquids live inside whole nectar eggs, and can attack from within them until they break. Eggs can also contain black nectar, which is inedible but can be disposed of by Ice Pikmin. Black nectar eggs can sometimes contain Spoiled Filthags instead.

In Pikmin: Wide World, eggs, when destroyed, produce one to two blobs of nectar that can be consumed by Pikmin or stored in a leader's Spray Bottle. Eggs that contain parasicks will occasionally gently wobble and are known as mitite bombs.
