The Acidic Jellyfloat is a new species of jellyfloat that appears in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. Being a member of the jellyfloat family, they have a physical composition similar to most jellyfloat species. They have a round, green, semi-transparent body with dark green spots at the top and an opening on the bottom, where numerous long, yellow tentacles hang from. Along with this, two glowing, green stalks with glowing yellow tips are found on the top of the jellyfloat's body. Despite lacking wings, the Acidic Jellyfloat is capable of flight.

The Acidic Jellyfloat will float aimlessly around its territory. When Pikmin enter its range, it will begin to float towards them, attempting to try and get above them to attack. Once it succeeds in getting above Pikmin, the Acidic Jellyfloat will squeeze its body and inhale, before releasing and expelling a large splash of acid on the group of Pikmin below it. This acid will damage and choke any Pikmin that are caught beneath it. This attack, although slow to charge up, is vicious in its range and attack potency. If enough Pikmin weigh down the Acidic Jellyfloat, it will fall to the ground, where it can be attacked even further. But eventually, it will shake off all Pikmin with a massive shake that can easily deflower and fling Pikmin long distances. When defeated, the Acidic Jellyfloat leaves no corpse to be collected, as it will simply just explode into a large blast of green light.

Acidic Jellyfloats can be taken out relatively easily, but their attack is still dangerous. Have Green Pikmin on standby, which can easily attack the jellyfloat without risking being burned or choked. They can also whack off the acid from the jellyfloat that was sprayed on other Pikmin to prevent them from perishing. Throwing a single Purple Pikmin or Weighted Pikmin onto the jellyfloat will weigh it down instantly, and it will have an extremely difficult time shaking off the Pikmin. Winged Pikmin can also attack the Acidic Jellyfloat, as they have an aerial advantage. Ice Pikmin can damage the jellyfloat enough to freezing it, where it will fall to the ground and burst on impact, making it an extremely quick method of defeating the creature. Finally, if a Dart Pikmin is thrown at the Acidic Jellyfloat, it will gradually leak health in the form of air, due to the hollow composition of the creature,

In Overlord mode, the Acidic Jellyfloat has more health and can more easily shake off Pikmin trying to weigh it down. Along with this, the acid that they release will leave a small pool of acid that remains for a full minute before evaporating.

“The Acidic Jellyfloat doesn't inhale small insects that pass beneath it. That's mainly because the jellyfloat feeds off of plants and fruits. However, they do store a lot of acid within their body, more likely than not being bile. When threatened, the Acidic Jellyfloat will expel their stomach fluids onto predators to burn them, and to scare them off. The stench of their stomach acids can be sprayed on its territory to deter any walks of life from it, so if you smell something really bad, more likely than not, the Acidic Jellyfloat is around.”

“The mushy body of the Acidic Jellyfloat can be formed into a jam with an acidic, sour aftertaste. It's an extremely strange and bitter spread that only the most refined pallets can enjoy. I've found that it goes best on either Puckering Blinnows, or Pricklepuffs.”

The Acidic Jellyfloat is a member of the jellyfloat family in Pikspore that uses acid to deter its predators. They are dark green and are a bit larger than the Lesser Spotted Jellyfloat. Acidic Jellyfloats, when threatened, can produce pools of acid that can almost instantly kill Pikmin that walk into them. They can only be attacked with Green Pikmin due to their acidic body, as only they are immune to the corrosive effects of acid. Acidic Jellyfloats can be tricked into eating a bomb rock, which will instantly kill it.
