Traidy

Traidy is the main antagonist of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "A Simple Investigation".

He was portrayed by John Durbin.

Biography[]

Traidy was a member of the Orion Syndicate, who answered to a senior member of the organisation called Draim. When Arissa, a comfort girl working for Draim, suddenly deserted their organisation and headed to Deep Space 9, Traidy and an associate, Sorm, followed her there. They discovered that Arissa was attempting to make contact with Tauvid, an agent of Idanian Security who had offered her a mysterious crystal. They quickly ascertained Tauvid didn't have the crystal on him. Tauvid offered to take them to it, then drew a weapon, prompting Sorm to shoot and kill him, apparently by accident. Traidy noted their only remaining option was to wait for Arissa.

Exploring the station, Traidy learned Arissa had retrieved the crystal and was being protected by Security Chief Odo. Sorm expressed disappointment at having to kill her and Traidy told him he'd get over it. He later heard from Draim, who had been contacted by Arissa, offering the crystal in exchange for her life. However, Traidy was ordered to kill Arissa as soon as she handed it over.

Traidy met Arissa in a cargo bay. After he revealed he had no weapons, Arissa handed over the crystal, stating she had no idea what was on it. (In fact, Arissa was an undercover sleeper agent for Idanian Security and the crystal contained the memories of her true self.) Sorm then stepped from hiding with a weapon and prepared to kill her. Odo leapt down from hiding and overpowered both Traidy and Sorm, who were presumably taken into custody by the station's security.
