He first appears in "Butterfly Effect", and since then, he has made many other appearances and cameos. In "Intern for the Worse", he returns as the main antagonist.
As a child, he was friends with Lynn Sr. and they went to Camp Mastodon together. He attended Royal Woods Middle School where he was a school delinquent and often hid in the home economics classroom whenever he was called to the principal's office. During his eighth grade year, the school held a winter dance one night but he lost his ticket. He got conned by Scoots for a new ticket, and missed his chance to be with Tammy Gobblesworth. As a result, he spontaneously grew a mustache in anger and swore to never be conned again which led to him becoming a swindler. Years later, he attended Royal Woods High School, with Rita Reynolds, Chef Pat and Mrs. Gurdle. During his time in high school, his antics often annoyed Chef Pat, one of which accidentally led to her friendship with Rita being ruined on their last day of school.
Personality[]
He appears to be a smug opportunist and a swindler[1] where he manages to cheat each Loud sibling by giving them "Lily's blanket" in exchange for their garage sale money. Despite him changing this behavior in "A Flipmas Carol", he reverted back to his old ways as of "Farm to Unstable", where his store was revealed to still be selling expired milk and eggs.
In "Out on a Limo", Lincoln states that he never gives him free smoothies, which means that Flip is stingy. This is also proven when he charges Papa Wheelie for double strawing his Flippee.
In "Intern for the Worse", he comes between Lincoln and Clyde's friendship, by making them compete for higher ranking staff positions at his store, much to his advantage.
Flip is also a very repulsive man, as seen in "Intern for the Worse" where he sells expired milk, and uses the melted cheese machine to put his dirty clothes, mostly his socks. He also falsifies lottery tickets with a black marker. The oil he uses in his store was actually hot dog grease. His disgusting behavior is shown again in "Roadie to Nowhere", where he has so much gunk on his teeth which Rita tries to remove. He also has a false tooth made out of beef jerky.
He cares a lot for his profits, but has no regard for safety or lives of his customers, because in "Washed Up" he let the Louds hire a broken boat from him. He blamed them for ruining it, despite it was his own fault. In addition, in "Snow Way Out", he would have abandoned the Loud children and Hops if not given the tickets, despite them being in danger of developing hypothermia.
Flip is also an opportunist, as seen in "Last Loud on Earth", where he used the storm as a distraction to steal some burgers from Burpin' Burger. He doesn’t care if food is cold.
In The Loud House Movie, he’s shown to not like singing or pity parties as he kicks Lincoln off his property while he lamented about his sisters being more successful than him.
In "Much Ado About Noshing", Kotaro explains that Flip siphoned the drinks from Lynn's Table with his van but got livid when he was told give everything back. Later, Flip received an invitation to Lynn's Table as an attempt to see who the bad reviewer was.
In "For Sale by Loner", Flip was shown to have a side business called "Rick's Rocks & Rentals". He lends Bud Grouse his mother's country cabin until he find a permanent replacement.
In "Sofa, So Good", Flip is shown to have a side business called "Dom's Driving & Dumpster Diving".
In "Time Trap", he attended Rita and Lynn Sr.'s wedding.
In "Leave No Van Behind", he tows Vanzilla back to the Loud Residence after it broke in a carwash. He later helps Lana, Lynn Sr. and Leonard find Vanzilla's original manufacturer by giving them a manual.
In "Can't Lynn Them All", Flip refuses to serve Lynn a Flippee and charges her fifty dollars due to her getting public hate at wrestling matches.
Appearance[]
Flip is a middle-aged man of short stature. He has gray hair, and a bald spot on the top of his head. He also has a gray mustache and eyebrows as well. He wears a brown pants, black shoes, and a t-shirt that was originally white in Season 1, but changed to red from Season 2 onward. In "Intern for the Worse", he wears a red button-up shirt.
In his youth, he used to be clean-shaven and slimmer with longer, black hair. He grew his signature mustache after being swindled by Scoots on the night of his middle school Christmas dance.

Nightmare Flip[]
In "Dream a Lily Dream", Lily had nightmares about Flip. This remained unknown to Lincoln, Leni, Lynn, Lola and Lisa until a monstrous Flip tore off the roof of the Loud house. The Loud siblings attacked the monster by making him drink warm milk, which put him to sleep. However, the nightmare version of Flip was lactose intolerant, so he was too dangerous to fight as he would have a great chance of gassing the Loud siblings to death with his farts. Per Lisa's orders, they all woke up and left Lily's dream, but Lisa stayed behind in order to take the matter into her own hands. Unfortunately for Lisa, Flip immediately captured the five-year-old scientist with his colossal hand, rendering her useless. However, Lily was able to defeat the monstrous swindler by slashing him into pieces with a sword made from Lynn Sr.'s ca-Lynn-mari.
World without the Loud Kids[]
In an alternate timeline where Lynn Sr. and Rita never had kids as seen in "Time Trap!", Flip owns a store called "Phillip's Greens and Beans", goes by his real name Phillip, and sells all sorts of natural foods. In addition, he is a hippie who does not indulge in swindling.
Trivia[]
According to Lisa (or at least in Lincoln's fantasy), Flip is the only person in town who’ll hire a four-year-old with no experience.[2]
The fact that he cuts corners, tampers with the expiration dates, and has unsanitary conditions with the food he sells is similar to Apu from The Simpsons.
His Flippees are also similar to Apu's Squishees that he sells at the Kwik-E-Mart.
He received a slight redesign in "Intern for the Worse", and for that episode only, with that redesign featuring a slightly different shape to his facial features (prominently his nose and mustache), as well as other fine details added to the rest of his face.
Flip owns a Humvee, which he uses as a snow plow.[3]
He has bad dental hygiene which he states that running his store was more urgent, and furthermore, according to Rita, his appointment has been ready for ten years.[4]
According to "Net Gains", he has apparently been to prison before, or else knows somebody who is now in prison, since one of the inmates recognized him as both he and Lynn were driving by.
Lisa believes that he is an identity crisis, given how he runs several businesses under alternate names. His several side hustles include:
