3-7 shares the basic Cyber Space theme along other stages, while presenting floating locations resembling the specific depiction of Chemical Plant from the console/PC version of Sonic Generations. As such, there are tons of mechanical buildings and tubes throughout the setting with rapid, blue digitized sparks bypassing the screen during the gameplay to represent the digitized atmosphere of the stage.
Portal location[]
In Chaos Island, the entrance Portal to the Cyber Space stage is located on top of a mountain at the north-eastern most island, patrolled by the Fortress boss. An Island Mystery is required to be completed during the Open Zone gameplay to access the individual island leading to the Portal.
Gameplay[]
The entire level is 2.5D based. In some sections the camera will rotate diagonally to give the player a better view. There are floating platforms - with some disintegrating ones, Zip Lines, and the rare spike pit. Some blocks can be moved: Boost into them to push them faster. Switches would typically move walls out of the way. Some diagonal slopes cannot be boosted on, as Sonic would simply slide off. Mind the staircase blocks, as if Sonic goes underneath one, he would lose a life, therefore reverting back to the previous Star Post. Landing on the end of the flat one acts like a spring, allowing Sonic to gain a great jump height.
Overview[]
From the start, there will be a trail of rings above the road, leading to a Dash Ring into the famous double-corkscrew section. If taking the high road, the player can use Boost in the appropriate direction along the two half loops. Sonic will drop along the right side and land on a disintegrating platform. Using the Homing Attack on Grabbers, the player can reach the other side. Past another fast section is the Star Post, ending the split.
If continuing with the low road: Boost throughout this road, including on the floating platforms. Defeat the Spiny and watch out for the blue blobs. This is followed by three more Spinys. After scaling the platforms, mind the blue blobs and trip the switch at the end of this road, which will open out a pathway to the left. Go around the maze in a clockwise direction, avoiding the slope. Once through, the player will be taken past the Star Post.
Once ahead of the Star Post, there is a rail above the road which has a Super Ring along with normal Rings and a Red Star Ring. Once over the ramp, the blue balloons will soon appear. Double Jump and turn to the left while doing the Homing Attack on the blue balloons, landing on the Dash Ring. A series of yellow blocks will form a stairway if touched. Take the stairways up the Accelerator Gun. Time the jump to avoid the retractable spikes that appear between two unbreakable containers. Homing Attack the Grabber in between the gaps. As the player goes over the half-loop, groups of yellow stairway blocks open out. Head to the right, minding the retractable spikes. Defeat the group of Spinys and boost up the half- loop with leads to a spring and some floating platforms. Take the spring on the left and then navigate the layout, defeating the Grabbers. These lead to a Spring Pole to help the player atop this wall. Ascend to the right to reach the Portal Gate on the top-right corner.
Past the first Star Post, jump onto the rail above.
On the second set of floating platforms to the left of the 180-degree slant.
Continuing from there, ascend to the top of the area using the modern spring. Jump onto the Giant Rainbow Ring at the end of the rail to collect the fifth Red Star Ring.
