Portal 2-7 or just 2-7 is a Cyber Space stage in Sonic Frontiers. It is the seventh and last Cyber Space stage in Ares Island, and the fourteenth one overall.

Description[]

Main article: Sky Sanctuary

2-7 is a location in Cyber Space inspired by Sky Sanctuary, based on the specific depiction from the console/PC version of Sonic Generations. Being a part of the Cyber Space realm, it is a rather incomplete, fragmented incarnation of the location set in the daytime with Death Egg visible in the distance.

Portal location[]

The entrance Portal to the Cyber Space stage is located on a small island in the far north of Ares Island, west of the Hermit Koco. It is accessible via the platforms to the north-west of the area with the satellite dish, followed by the yellow Chaos Emerald Vault and Sumo. Only a single Portal Gear is required to gain access to the stage.

Gameplay[]

Sonic will be encountering clouds, Pole Elevators, and spikes, turntables with spiked ends, disintegrating bridges and platforms. Items such as Super Rings are found hidden inside Wooden Containers, while indestructible containers will be placed in-front of the player in case of a dangerous section ahead, such as bottomless pits.

Sonic can walk up slopes and jump off, but won't be able to stand there, as he'll slide back down. The collapsing pillar that Sonic grinds around half-way through the stage has no effect on the gameplay. Switches which are often attached to ceilings, may build barriers to help the player progress.

Overview[]

2-7 as a stage is set to a 2.5D perspective. Occasionally the camera will angle to the view ahead. Throughout the stage, disintegrating platforms will re-spawn if you make a mistake. When going up the first disintegrating helter-skelter, the best place to boost after a jump is level in height with the road and just before Sonic reaches it; this will help Sonic to carry the most speed by the time the road starts crashing down.

Red Star Ring locations[]

  • Above the first Star Post, the first Red Star Ring is accessible via the first Grind Rail Sonic grinds on.
  • The second Red Star Ring is found on the left side of a Pole Elevator to the left of the disintegrating platforms. The player has to move left to adjust your position and jump to reach it.
  • Past the second Star Post, the third Red Star Ring is found on a disintegrating platform next to the wall accessible via the red Spring.
  • The fourth Red Star Ring is found past the hole surrounded by spikes. Using the Double Jump and Aerial Boost, the player should reach to it between the two disintegrating bridges to get the Red Star Ring.
  • In-between two disintegrating helter-skelter roads, the fifth Red Star Ring is in the middle of a gap above a cloud.

Trivia[]

  • The pieces of the linear layout of this stage are internally very similar to Sky Sanctuary Act 1 from Sonic Generations.[1]
  • For some odd reason, there is a spot where the player is able to rotate the camera around.[2]
