A Land in Bloom is the fourth chapter of Fire Emblem Engage.

Story[]

After Alear says farewell to thier mother, Vander suggests using the Somniel as a stronghold. When some preparations are made, Alfred leads Alear around the country of Firene while talking about it and his mother, Ève. He also mentions the kingdoms of Brodia, Elusia and Solm along with the ring of the emblem of echoes. As they arrive in Flora Mill Town, they find it under attack by an Elusian general controlling corrupted. Céline manages to escape with Louis and Chloé holding the line. She locates her brother and tells him that Elusia is marching on the castle. Alear awakens Celica from the ring Céline carried and using it the group take down the enemy. One corrupted tries to take out Alear but is stopped by a young girl who introduces herself as Veyle. She vanishes soon after and Céline expresses her gratitude and even becomes friends with Alear.

This chapter marks the first chapter where the Somniel is accessible. A vast majority of its features are currently unavailable other than increasing Bonds with Emblems, increasing Support with allies, accessing the Ring Chamber, allowing Alear to sleep in their bedchambers, and obtaining items from the ground.

Roster Strategies[]

Due to the fact that this is the first chapter where the player has access to the Ring Chamber, it is wise to begin forging Bond Rings as the player will not have enough Emblem Rings to spread out to the entire roster for a vast majority of the game. While they do not need to be particularly strong rings with powerful effects, obtaining a small handful to give to your roster will not only provide the innate stat benefits, but also allow them to accrue Skill Points for later portions of the game once more Rings become available and skill inheritance becomes more important.

Some S-Rank Bond Rings are worth trying to roll for as they carry useful effects, especially on harder difficulties:

  • Caeda - Sympathetic helps decrease received damage once the unit equipped with her ring is under 50% health, which is useful on basically every unit to help mitigate damage.
  • Navarre - Deadly Blade gives sword wielding units Crit+10, though for several chapters this will only be Alear who is better off equipped with an Emblem.
  • Deirdre - Renewal recovers 5 HP each turn which fits perfectly onto Framme or Jean so they can maintain their HP so they can continue to Chain Guard and in general as a means to keep units topped off without needing to expend Heal staffs.
  • Seliph - Battlewise grants a stacking Crit bonus every time the unit equipped with his Ring initiates battle and defeats their foe. Once they have defeated 10 enemies in this manner, they get a maximum of Crit +10 for the rest of the map.

Battle Strategies[]

It's suggested to use Celica's warp ragnarok engage attack to rejoin Chloé and Louis. Meanwhile split the party up into two waves with cavaliers and Sigurd's unit going east and the rest going north. Leave Etie behind to deal with the pegasus knights that join up. Take out Rodine with either Céline or Clanne.
