Lue-Reeq
Lue-Reeq Chalah is a character from Final Fantasy XIV. Appearing in the Shadowbringers expansion, Lue-Reeq is one of the key characters for the physical DPS role questline, and functions as the quest giver for the quest chain. He is a hunter who does not save his resources to hunt Cardinal Virtue Andreia.
History[]
Lue-Reeq was the son of a lord of Eulmore but never received attention from his father and was raised by a nurse named Olvara until his youth. His father never cared what Lue-Reeq did as long as he did not mess up his family name. Seeking to be recognized by his father, Lue-Reeq decided to become a hunter and invested a large amount of his family's money to collect information about Cardinal Virtue Andreia. Lue-Reeq hired several hunters to help him, but none remained in his party for long.
Lue-Reeq met the Warrior of Darkness in Crystarium and together they hunted Andreia. The Warrior had visions of Renda-Rae's past before she became Andreia, and Lue-Reeq recognized the vision as a tale told to him by Olvara during his childhood. The pair headed to Gatetown and met with Olvara who shared her knowledge about Renda-Rae. Lue-Reeq went off alone in search of Andreia and found that one of his former hired companions, Lanbyrd, was turned into a sin eater by Andreia and seeing the other sin eaters that accompanied the Cardinal Virtue, he concluded that Andreia was trying to recreate her old party.
Lue-Reeq's bad reputation as a hunter eventually reached his father, who ordered him to stop smearing the family name and return to Eulmore. Lue-Reeq decided to resign his family and go his own way as a bounty hunter. Lue-Reeq, alongside his first friend, the Warrior of Darkness, made their way to Rak'tika Greatwood and faced Andreia and her teammates. Once the Cardinal Virtue was defeated, the spirit of Renda-Rae appeared to the pair and said her last words. After his adventure, Lue-Reeq decided to live with Olvaria.
After Elidibus began impersonating Ardbert Hylfyst, Lue-Reeq may be one of the characters who visits the warrior's room at night. Lue-Reeq learned about the Ascians. Dissatisfied with the situation, he offered encouraging words for the Warrior to do what is right.
Lue-Reeq later aided the adventurer and the other members of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn in the battle against the spectres of the Warriors of Light summoned by Elidibus.
