Gurbesu of the Goro is a non-player character in Final Fantasy XIV. She is a member of the Goro tribe and the wife of Bayan of the Goro, a four-year-old horse. Gurbesu appears in the series of FATEs "The Dataqi Chronicles" in the Azim Steppe.
History[]
After the Goro tribe was destroyed in a Matanga raid, Gurbesu went out hunting to replenish their supplies, but ended up being attacked by mammoth and separated from her husband, Bayan. The Dataq tribe that was passing by the scene defeated the mammoth and rescued an unconscious Gurbesu. The Dataq set up their camp at the location and Altani of the Dataq treated Gurbesu's injuries. While she was unconscious, Chief Khalja, the tribe's khan, found Bayan lost in the surrounding area.
After Gurbesu wakes up, while explaining the situation of her tribe, a group of Matanga found and began attacking the Dataqi settlement. After the Matanga are chased away, Gurbesu says that she will leave to search for her tribe and the Dataqi respond by saying that they will accompany her. The party finds the Goro being attacked by the Matanga and arrive in time to save them. Again, the Dataqi set up camp to treat the wounded. Anjana, the Matanga leader, returns and attacks the camp in full force but is defeated. Finally free of threats, the Goro and the Dataqi say farewell and go their separate ways.
