Baby Donkey Kong, alternatively spelled Baby DK, is the infant form of Donkey Kong. He first appears in Yoshi's Island DS and returns in Mario Super Sluggers.

In Yoshi's Island DS[]

In Yoshi's Island DS, Bowser kidnaps all the babies in the Mushroom Kingdom, including Baby Donkey Kong. He is found after Yoshi beats the World 1 boss, and he is subsequently used in Baby DK, the Jungle King!, his first stage. Baby Donkey Kong is the third baby whom the Yoshis give a ride to. Baby Donkey Kong can climb on ropes and vines and throw eggs that explode upon contact with the ground. He was the only baby to have his blanket colored brown. After defeating Bowser and Baby Bowser at the top of Bowser's Castle, Baby DK is revealed to be one of the seven Star Children.

In Mario Super Sluggers[]

Baby Donkey Kong returns in Mario Super Sluggers as an unlockable playable character. He can be unlocked by playing the single-player adventure with Yoshi in DK Jungle. When the player searches a certain tree in the bottom left corner of the level, Baby DK will appear. If the player completes his challenge, he becomes available as a playable character in all modes. Also, interestingly, like DK, Baby DK does not hit with a bat, but with a banana, similar to DK who hits with a boxing glove. He has chemistry with the Yoshi's, the other babies, and every Kong except Donkey Kong himself.
