Anthony (Japanese: ロンタオ Rontao) is a character from Fire Emblem Fates and one of Anankos's servants.
Fire Emblem Fates
Role
Anthony only appears in Revelation, he is a minor NPC and boss.
Anthony first appears in Chapter 19; fleeing Vallite forces and begging for someone to help him. Corrin and the rest of the group dispatch the Vallite forces and save Anthony. Anthony reveals that he is a page serving Anankos. Azura mentions this means Anthony probably knows where Anankos is, and Anthony says that she is correct, though he acts reluctant to return to the tyrant. Corrin, apologetically, requests that Anthony lead them to Anankos, Anthony agrees and begins guiding them to capital of Valla,[1] Gyges.
During Chapter 20 the group runs into a particularly treacherous area of Valla, filled with collapsing bridges. Anthony crosses first, however the bridge begins to collapse when the others start to cross. Vallite soldiers also appear, and attack Corrin's group. After the Vallite phantoms are routed Xander thinks the bridge's collapse and subsequent Vallite attack was not an accident; and confronts Anthony. Corrin prevents Xander from killing Anthony that moment, and Xander warns Corrin that their kindness will get them killed, though admits that same kindness is what joined Hoshido and Nohr, and drops the subject for the time being.
Beginning Chapter 21, Anthony pulls Corrin away from the others and states his misgivings about the rest of the group not trusting him. Anthony states that, to prove his loyalty, he will sneak into Gyges alone and disable the security measures at the front entrance. Corrin refuses to allow Anthony to do that alone, and offers to sneak into Gyges with him. Shortly after entering the castle Anthony strikes at Corrin, missing, and summons Vallite troops in an ambush. Corrin's allies and siblings arrive, stating that this possibility had been planned for, and they defeat Anthony.
Anankos, displeased, twists Anthony's form into that of a Faceless, and the battle against the Vallite forces begins in earnest. Corrin and their party battle Anthony a second time, this time killing him, despite his pleas for mercy.

Personality
Anthony seems to have skill in deception, being able to goad the, admittedly naive, Corrin into trusting him. Anthony seems to serve Anankos of his own will, and does not seem to have been directly brainwashed, though it is likely that fear is a motivator in his loyalty.

Trivia
- In the German release of Fates Anthony's description reads "Anthony" instead of having an actual description. This appears to be an error of some sort.
