Teacher Bun Bun (ぶんぶん先生 Bun Bun-sensei, Teacher Bun Bun) is a Floating enemy first seen as the boss of the Moon/Iriomote stage in Empire of Cats Chapter 3.
Enemy
Teacher Bun Bun is by far the toughest opponent faced in Empire of Cats, with much higher health and pushing power than any previously encountered enemy due to his rapid, short-ranged area attacks and high speed. He can and will destroy anything that enters his range (200) - that includes UFO Cat, Whale Cat and Mythical Titan Cat.
He may seem unbeatable, but he can be defeated with the proper strategy, an example being Sexy Legs Cats and Dragon Cats stacked in tandem with a continuous spam of "meatshields" (e.g., Macho Cat, Wall Cat, Coin Cat, Catburger, Samba Cat, etc) to delay and absorb his hits.
Strategy
- It is highly recommended if not required to get all Superior Treasures in all Empire of Cats Chapters (prioritize the Energy Drink, Giant Safe, Relativity Clock, Super Register, Legendary Cat Shield, and Legendary Cat Sword) to make him manageable, along with upgrading every cat you're using to level 20.
- Take advantage of his short reach and prioritize long-ranged attackers over tanks; Mythical Titan Cat can only take so many hits from him, but a gang of Dragon Cats and Paris Cats can deal massive damage given enough time at a range advantage.
- Anti-Floating units with slow, freeze or weaken abilities like Delinquent Cat and Kotatsu Cat are quite helpful, provided they have enough range to land a hit on him. Even so, he is beatable without their assistance.
- Later in the game, Teacher Bun Bun and most of his variants' pushing power decreases drastically despite their bulk and brute strength, due to the player having faster meatshields, like Crazed Cat and Crazed Tank Cat, and powerful anti-Floating True Forms such as Sanzo Cat, Fishman cat and Cameraman Cat to cripple them.

After clearing its debut stage, Eldritch Forces, Mecha-Bun is unlocked as a Legend Cat. |

Li'l Bun Bun was also present as a regular enemy, and would appear every now and then to create a barricade from attacking the enemy ships; if defeated, he would drop a plethora of rewards.
Teacher Bun Bun's head could also be seen on the icons of two abilities: Boss Killer simply increased damage against all bosses by 50%, while Boss-chasing Shots allowed all shots to home in on bosses.

Trivia
- Teacher Bun Bun appears in Mystery Girl Yuki's attack animation; Bun Bun Black appears in Crazed Yuki's attack animation; J.K Bun Bun appears in Lost World Yuki's attack animation.
- The Face, Dark Emperor Nyandam and Teacher Bun Bun all share the same amount of health: 99,999. However, Nyandam only has one unbuffed appearance, and Teacher Bun Bun has always been fought at 400% or more.
- He is the only Empire of Cats Moon boss without an Aku variant, an event-exclusive variant (like The Face - Princess Head) nor an Advent Boss variant (like Hannya).
- Crustaceous Scissorex' shell appears to be a Bun Bun's skull. This is further confirmed by the former's description mentioning its acquisition of Teacher Bun Bun's "irrational power of love".
- It seems there may be a power struggle of sorts within the Bun Bun family, as the term Oiesōdō (お家騒動) in Trouble at the Mansion's Japanese name, Bukeyashiki Oiesōdō (武家屋敷お家騒動, "Family Trouble at the Samurai Mansion"), literally means "family trouble" or "domestic trouble", but could also refer to an internal squabble (over headship rights) in a daimyo family during the Edo period of Japan.
- In The Battle Cats POP!, Teacher Bun Bun is heavily nerfed in that his attack frequency is set to roughly 5 seconds. However, his other variants remain unchanged.
