Ensanglion the Calamity (超禍獣シングリオン, Chō Kajū Shingurion, Super Calamity Beast Shinglion) is a Floating/Behemoth enemy introduced in the 20th stage of each Behemoth Culling map. He is an enemy counterpart of Ganglion.
This fast, tough enemy stands at 350 range but slowly fires off highly devastating attacks that reach up to 550 range, weakening any survivors to 50%. Freeze, Slow, Waves and Surges all have no effect on him, and while vulnerable to Knockback effects, that does help in skipping his very short backswing. Combined with his low knockback count itself and any support in play, getting to this enemy may be easier said than done. His main weakness is that his attack animation's foreswing is quite long, meaning he isn't all that difficult to stall in the end as you can potentially interrupt the attack for a window of opportunity.
Strategy[]
Immortal Yukimura and Awakened Bahamut Cat are able to do decent damage on him when timed well. Courier Cat and Supercar Cat can also do chip damage to him, as well as the peons in his debut stages. Radical Cat can also stall him well, but needs to be at least level 38 to survive a hit.
Slain by its virtuous other self in the past to be sealed away in eternal seclusion. As a growing miasma births more Behemoths, the first Emperor's seal too has been broken.
A legendary ancient dragon who was once slain by his own good-hearted double and sealed away in the depths of an unexplored region. His miasma continued to amplify even after being sealed, turning beasts into Super-Beasts, and the seal was broken after many years.

Trivia[]
Ensanglion's name is a portmanteau of ensanguine (to stain or cover with blood) and Ganglion.
The "Shin" in Ensanglion's Japanese name, Shinglion, could be derived from 死 shi (death) or more likely 真 shin (true), contrasting Ganglion's name, where "Gan" can be taken as 贋 (counterfeit, fake).
Ensanglion's miasma turning normal beasts into Behemoths is conceptually similar to the Frenzy Virus introduced in Monster Hunter 4, as both result in those afflicted gaining vastly increased strength, speed, savagery, aggression, and redeyes. The Frenzy Virus is caused by Gore Magala and its adult stage, Shagaru Magala, which acts as the "final boss" of Monster Hunter 4, just as Ensanglion is the final boss of the Behemoth Culling maps. Shagaru Magala and most of Monster Hunter's other "final bosses" also happen to be Elder Dragons, like Ensanglion and Ganglion.
Ensanglion's design is a combination of Ganglion's Normal Form (color) and Evolved Form (wings), which is similar to how Chaotic Gore Magala is stuck halfway between Gore Magala and Shagaru Magala.
The term 分身 bunshin in Ensanglion's Japanese description can refer to a clone, alter-ego, or one of the bodies resulted from the split of another into multiple parts; an offshoot. Regardless of semantics, Ensanglion's virtuous other self would presumably be Ganglion.
The duality of Ganglion and Ensanglion is very similar to a pair of characters from Dragon Ball: the good Kami and the evil King Piccolo, who were once a single entity until he separated the evil from his body. Here, however, the Japanese description's wording suggests that Ganglion came about when Ensanglion separated the good from himself, especially since Ensanglion's Japanese name (Shinglion) could be derived from the word 真 shin, meaning "true".
Their relationship is also comparable to the Pokémon Reshiram and Zekrom, a duo of opposing dragons that resulted from a single dragon splitting itself into two.
Ganglion the Unleashed's Japanese description states that his blasts of light bury those who stand in his way, with the term used for "bury", 葬り去る hōmurisaru, specifically referring to burying something like the past, not in the ground; leaving something to be forgotten. This may explain why Ganglion is regarded as the progenitor of all Dragon Emperors rather than Ensanglion.
God-Emperor Raiden's Behemoth Slayer Ultra Talent, added in the same update as this enemy, may imply that Raiden was built specifically to fight Ensanglion in the event of his return.
The pink glow that Ensanglion's eyes get when attacking contrasts the green glow briefly seen in Ganglion's eyes in his attack animation.
