Travis Holmes is the main antagonist of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Girl Dishonored". He is a member of the Omega Tau Fraternity at Tompkins Square University and a serial rapist.
He was portrayed by Lenny Platt.
Biography[]
At some point while attending Tompkins Square University, Travis Holmes joined the Omega Tau Fraternity. He would rape drunk girls and sometimes invite his friends to join in, taking advantage of the school's policy of covering up rapes. He raped fellow student Renee Clark, leading her to drop out when her complaints her ignored by the school. She checked herself into a mental institution, wanting to forget what Travis had done to her.
Travis and his fraternity brothers, Wesley Grimes and Carter Pressman, gang-rape student, Lindsey Bennett, who rather than going to campus security, goes to the hospital, leading SVU to get involved with what had happened. When questioned by Detective Nick Amaro, Travis claims that the sex was consensual and to discredit Lindsey, shows a picture of her topless. SVU ends up learning about the various rape cases that were hidden by the college, not long before Lindsey takes her own life.
Joe Dawson, a member of that frat, who had participated in a rape, was sympathetic towards Lindsey and wanted to help her, so he recorded Travis and his friends mocking Lindsey's death by saying that they "raped her dead". Joe gave SVU the video, leading to his own arrest as well as the arrest and imprisonment of Travis, Wesley, Carter, the Tompkins university staff members who had covered up the numerous rapes.
Personality[]
Travis Holmes is an arrogant, violent, cruel, and misogynistic bully who takes pleasure in forcing himself on girls and enjoys their pain. He takes advantage of the college covering up the rapes and takes as many victims as he can. He even goes so far as mock Lindsey's suicide which was his fault, further showing what an utterly vile person he is.
