Synopsis
Pirate Robot is in the library, looking up books about the moon. One in particular interests him; The Legend of Moon Pirate, about a female pirate who sailed to the moon and buried treasure there. This treasure supposedly grants magical pirate helpers, which Pirate Robot could really use since his only crew member, Flybot Sally, is currently on vacation. He leaves with a treasure map from the book and sets sail for the Moon in the Spanner of the Skies.
The following day, Amaya and Greg visit the library and find Mrs. Taylor cleaning up the mess that Pirate Robot made. Since the books are all about the moon they deduce that a villain has gone there, and decide to investigate that night. After meeting up with their fellow heroes in Power Q, they see on the PJ Picture Player that their suspicions were correct and Pirate Robot is on his way to the moon. Since the Power Heroes don't really consider him a threat, Owlette volunteers for this mission. She follows Pirate Robot with the PJ Explorider. When she gets to the moon, Pirate Robot is already digging for the treasure and indeed finds a pink, skull-shaped crystal. He tries to show it to Owlette, but rather than the crystal summoning some helpers for him like he expected, it instead brainwashes Owlette into becoming loyal to Pirate Robot. He immediately makes her a member of his crew.
They fly to Power Q, where Gekko and Lilyfay are cleaning the windows. Pirate Robot uses the crystal on the two heroes and they become pirates for his crew as well. With his new crew, Pirate Robot heads back for the moon; when he gives Lilyfay the crystal and orders her to store it in the cabin, however, she instead tosses it overboard without him noticing. Pirate Robot informs his crew they will soon return to the city, but then Owlette suddenly stages a mutiny and takes his hat. Pirate Robot tries to find the crystal to make her obey him again, but finds that it's not in the cabin. Lilyfay and Gekko join Owlette in the mutiny, and state their intentions to set sail into space. They force Pirate Robot to walk the plank, leaving him stranded in space as they fly away with the Spanner of the Skies.
They don't get far however, as Gekko accidentally knocks Owlette overboard with the plank. The three begin to argue who gets to be the captain. Soon, a cluster of asteroids flies by, and Pirate Robot hitches a ride on one of them back to the Spanner of the Skies. Unfortunately, these asteroids were just the first of a much larger cluster that is now heading straight for the ship. Pirate Robot offers to fly the ship to safety, but Gekko and Lilyfay fight him for control over the steering wheel. The group thus fails to get out of the asteroids' way and the ship is hit. Pirate Robot begins to regret making the heroes part of his crew. He considers trying to get the crystal back so he can force the heroes to obey him, but then gets a better idea. He uses one of his pirate shanties to get the others to finally follow his orders. Led by Pirate Robot, the heroes save the ship from the asteroids.
Once they are safe, Pirate Robot flies his ship to the crystal. Instead of using it again, he smashes it to pieces, thus undoing the spell it put on the heroes. They remember nothing of the adventure they just went through, but Pirate Robot assures them they were the best crew he's ever had. Together, the four shout their victory cry.
