Synopsis
Newton is flying through space greeting his asteroids when he spots a small, purple asteroid identical to the one that turned him evil last time and blasts it with his star power. However, this causes the purple asteroid to bump into another one, which falls to Earth. It threatens to crash onto Tarabiscoville, but Owlette intercepts it with the Owl-Glider. The PJs wonder why Newton didn't stop the asteroid. Unbeknownst to them, Newton has seen everything and flies off.
The following day, the PJs see Newton walking through the city reading a book. When Newton sees the PJs, however, he runs off, leaving behind his book. The PJs fear something is wrong with their friend and decide to investigate it that night. After their transformations, the PJs gather in HQ. Owlette uses the Owl Binoculars and sees Newton saying goodbye to his asteroids. It seems the boy is giving up on space, which worries the PJ Masks.
Elsewhere in the city, Luna Girl is trying to get back to the moon with the help of her moths. The plan fails. She next tries to use a kiddie ride rocket to fly to the moon by powering it up with a crystal, but it instead catapults her to HQ. In HQ, the PJs see Newton entering the museum on the PJ Picture Player, and they take the Cat-Car to get to him. Luna Girl follows them. In the museum, Newton is gathering some books when the PJs confront him. Newton admits that the asteroid accident from last night was his fault, and decides to stay away from space until he learns about all the dangers in the universe, which could take a long time. Luna, spotting an opportunity, follows Newton as he leaves the museum. She bumps into him so he drops his books, and while she helps him pick them up, she tricks Newton into telling her about a fast asteroid that will pass the Earth at midnight.
Luna spots the asteroid Newton mentioned and tries to capture it with her Luna Magnet. The asteroid is too strong and breaks free, but Luna nevertheless manages to capture a fraction of it. With the captured asteroid piece, Luna powers up the kiddie ride and turns it into an actual rocket that she dubs the Luna Kazoomer. At first, the Kazoomer goes out of control and flies through the city, but when Gekko tries to stop it with one of his shields, he ends up deflecting the Kazoomer into space, straight for the moon. As Catboy and Owlette prepare to follow Luna in the rocketship, Gekko heads for Newton's House to convince him to help them. Newton is too scared that he will make another mistake, but Gekko convinces him that everybody makes mistakes sometimes. Newton is convinced and summons his costume, but since he gave up his asteroids, he is currently without any powers, so Gekko uses his super strength to throw Newton into space. Once in space, Newton reconnects with his asteroids and regains his powers. He saves the HQ rocketship, which had gone out of control. He then stops the Luna Kazoomer, reclaims the piece of asteroid, and tosses Luna back to Earth.
Newton returns the asteroid fragment to the asteorid it came from. He regroups with the PJs back on Earth, and they shout their victory cry.
Moral/Lesson
- Everybody makes mistakes. What matters is that you learn from them to get better instead of hiding from them.
