- "Look, I may not know much, but I do know this: Europeans love Americans."
- âNed Leeds to Peter Parker[src]
Europe is the second smallest continent out of seven on the planet Earth. It is known for its varied nature.

Before 20th Century[]
Convergence[]
In 2988 B.C., the Convergence, a cosmic event in which the Nine Realms are aligned, took place, opening wormholes between the Realms. The megalithic monument, Stonehenge, was built as one of many landmarks created to mark the coordinates of the focal point of the first Convergence.[1]
Battle of TĂžnsberg[]
- "From around the cold and darkness came the Frost Giants, threatening to plunge the mortal world into a new ice age. But humanity would not face this threat alone."
- âOdin[src]
In 965 A.D., the Frost Giants of Jotunheim, led by their king Laufey, arrived in TĂžnsberg, Norway planning to freeze everything in their path using the Casket of Ancient Winters to plunge the world into a new ice age. However, the Asgardian army, led by King Odin, arrived and engaged in a battle against the Frost Giants, forcing them to abandon Earth and retreat to their own world.[2]
Berserker Staff[]
In the 12th century, Elliot Randolph, an Asgardian, was recruited for a military mission on Earth. While on Earth, Randolph served with the Asgardian Berserker Army, who gained superior strength, even by Asgardian standards, by touching a device known as the Berserker Staff, which brought all of the rage and hatred that the wielder keeps suppressed and transforms it into strength. During his time on Earth, Randolph fell in love with the planet and its people, and when the rest of the Asgardian host returned home, Randolph stayed behind.
The Berserker Staff was left behind as well. Randolph, who now considered himself a pacifist, did not want the staff or the power it possessed. Fearing that the dark magic of the staff would fall into the wrong hands, he broke the staff into three pieces and spread them in various places across Europe. He hid one in a tree in what would become the Trillemarka National Park in Norway, one in a crypt in Seville, Spain, and the final piece in a church in Ireland.[3]
Tesseract[]
The Tesseract, containing the Space Stone, was brought to Earth by Odin and, over the centuries, it ended up being kept safe in a church in the village of TĂžnsberg, Norway. Eventually, the Tesseract became the subject of many legends of Norse mythology.[4]
World War I[]
In the 1910s, Europe was devastated and destabilized by World War I. In particular, political and economic instability in Germany, and lingering resentment, resulted in the rise of the National Socialist Party under the leadership of Adolf Hitler.[4]
Red Room[]
In the 1930s, the Red Room was founded and their academy was based out of Belarus. The Red Room was a secret Soviet-Russian training program that involved taking young women and turning them into elite spies and assassins known as Black Widows.[5]
World War II[]
In September 1, 1939, Adolf Hitler led a German invasion of Poland. Two days later, France and England declared war on Germany, beginning World War II.
In late 1940, Peggy Carter, a member of the Strategic Scientific Reserve, went to the Castle Kaufmann in Germany and freed the captive scientist, Abraham Erskine. Erskine was then recruited to help in Project Rebirth.[6]
Attack in Norway[]
- "The Tesseract was the jewel of Odin's treasure room. It's not something one buries. But I think it is close, yes?"
"I cannot help you."
"No. But maybe you can help your village." - âJohann Schmidt and Church Keeper[src]
In March 1942, Johann Schmidt led his organization, HYDRA, to TĂžnsberg, Norway in order to retrieve the Tesseract. As his agents destroyed TĂžnsberg, Schmidt went to Castle Rock Tower, where he killed the Church Keeper, and took the Tesseract.[4]
Attack at Azzano[]
- "Schmidt sent out a force to Azzano. Two hundred men went up against him and less than fifty returned. Your audience contained what was left of the 107th. The rest were killed or captured."
- âPeggy Carter to Steve Rogers[src]
In October 1943, Bucky Barnes, Gabe Jones, Dum Dum Dugan, and other members of the 107th Infantry Regiment went to Azzano, Italy to battle Wehrmacht soldiers. During the battle, a battalion of HYDRA soldiers arrived and killed the Wehrmacht, before taking the surviving members of the 107th Infantry prisoner.[4]
HYDRA Facilities[]
During World War II, HYDRA seized control of many facilities following the occupation of Austria by Nazi Germany, Johann Schmidt established one of his many weapons facilities under command of Colonel Lohmer.[6] General Werner Reinhardt was in command of two of these facilities, a fortress that served as his main headquarters[7], and the HYDRA Research Facility Number 4, that served as a warehouse for dozens of artifacts obtained by HYDRA by the time of World War II, many of them held in the boxes marked with the logo of the Deutsches Afrikakorps, including a blue extraterrestrial corpse and a Obelisk that was able to petrify anyone who held it.[8]
Uprising at HYDRA Base Camp C3[]
Colonel Lohmer, officer in charge of one of the HYDRA weapons facilities built in Austria after its invasion by German forces, devised a strategy to reduce the potential number of mutinies among the prisoners of war captured and enslaved inside the factory, based on his beliefs that the Third Reich would win World War II because its members were unified, while the enemies of the Reich were of different nationalities and ethnicities, and that would cause conflict among them. As such, Lohmer split the prisoners by nationality, locking up members of different factions and brigades within the Allied Forces, hoping that they would be too busy fighting each other to try to fight their jailors. For example, he put in the same cell a British member of the 3rd Independent Parachute Brigade, James Montgomery Falsworth, a member of the French Resistance, Jacques Dernier, a member of the 92nd Infantry Division, Gabe Jones, a member of the 69th Infantry Regiment, Dum Dum Dugan, and a member of the 107th Infantry Regiment, Bucky Barnes, many of them captured. A joke made by Dugan while introducing themselves raised tension between the cellmates, and a brawl started, proving Lohmer's point.
Barnes contracted pneumonia while on the battlefield and received a brutal beating for being unable to satisfy the quotas of production, letting munitions fall while moving a cart. Jones tended to Barnes when they returned to the cell, assuring that, given his sickness, contusions and broken ribs, if Lohmer made him work the following day, Barnes wouldn't survive. His cellmates, knowing that Lieutenant Kleiber was a reasonable man, tried to think of a way to avoid Lohmer forcing Barnes into hard labor. Falsworth, being a strategy expert, devised a plan to get rid of Lohmer that required Dugan, Jones and Dernier to work as a team using their respective expertise.
The following day, Falsworth's plan was carried out, with Dugan, Jones, and Falsworth smuggling components for Dernier so he could make a substance to melt the chain of a crane carrying scrap. Lohmer appeared, demanding to incorporate Barnes into labor, though Kleiber considered him too sick. Just as Lohmer was shouting that Barnes would die working if necessary, Kleiber ordered the crane to be activated. The melted chain broke, dropping the crane's load on Lohmer as he passed, crushing him.
The soldiers made every prisoner return to their cell. Dugan informed Barnes that Lohmer wouldn't cause any harm again, while their role in his death couldn't be proven and the punishment would just be reducing their food rations for a week. Barnes only response was, however, to ask Dugan to stop calling him "Jimmy", as his full name was James Buchanan Barnes and he preferred being called Bucky.[6]
Liberation of Allied Prisoners of War[]
- "They're thirty miles behind the lines. Through the most heavily fortified territory in Europe."
- âChester Phillips[src]
In November 1943, Steve Rogers, hearing about the events in Azzano and the imprisonment of the soldiers that battled HYDRA, decided to rescue the prisoners alone. Agent Peggy Carter of the Strategic Scientific Reserve supported his decision and offered to fly him from Italy to Austria in a plane piloted by Howard Stark. Discussing the details of Rogers' extraction, the plane went under attack, so Rogers decided to jump off the plane, ordering them to abandon enemy airspace, as now he was a captain, and therefore able to give orders.
Arnim Zola was transferred from HYDRA Headquarters and put in charge of the weapons facility, with the Tesseract contained inside the factory to harness its energy to fuel production and power the weapons. Zola took Johann Schmidt on a tour of the production floor, with Zola being very pleased that they where ahead of schedule considering the large size of many of the parts. Schmidt was not all that impressed and order Zola to increase the output in this and the rest of facilities. When Zola informed him that the request was not possible given the condition of the prisoners, Schmidt casually replied for Zola to use what remaining strength they had left and that new workers were easy to come by.
Rogers successfully infiltrated the facility boarding a truck, and made his way through the production floors to the prison, acquiring a Tesseract fuel cell along the way. Rogers freed the prisoners, asking for the whereabouts of his friend, Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes, and told them to exit the facility heading to a nearby forest, battling HYDRA soldiers along the way, while Rogers went to look for Barnes.
The freed prisoners battled HYDRA forces, seizing many weapons and vehicles to clear their way out. Schmidt observed the ensuing chaos on the security monitors and activated an alarm signal in the whole facility, before realizing that Steve Rogers also infiltrated the base. In order to avoid the facility being captured, Schmidt activated the self-destruct sequence to the shock of Arnim Zola, who rushed to his office, in order to save important documents, coming across Rogers but fleeing before being reached.
Rogers eventually found Barnes in a laboratory, where a map showing other HYDRA facilities was displayed. Rogers memorized the map and began searching an exit with Barnes just before the self-destruct mechanisms started to explode. As the two tried to find a way out, they came across Schmidt and Zola, where Schmidt taunted Rogers about their no longer human nature after being subjected to Abraham Erskine's Super Soldier Serum.
Rogers and Schmidt two exchanged blows, but Zola pulled a nearby lever causing the walkway the two were standing on to separate. Before making their getaway, Schmidt revealed his true face to Rogers, the result of have the Erskine's imperfect serum, being that the reason of his nickname, the Red Skull. Schmidt boarded a single manned aircraft to escape the facility, while giving Zola the keys of his personal car to escape.
As the explosions continued, Rogers and Barnes made their way up the factory to a beam they needed to cross to get to safety. Barnes managed to get across before the beam broke. Without the beam, Rogers was left with no other option then to jump across in order to make it to safety. Despite the danger, Rogers successfully made the jump across the void through the erupting flames.
Rogers and Barnes successfully escaped the facility, and met up with the rest of the freed prisoners. They then made their way back to the camp in Italy.[4]
Destruction of HYDRA Facilities[]
Back at the base, Steve Rogers recruited the freed prisoners to join the Howling Commandos, which was a unit comprised of the United States Armed Forces 107th Infantry Regiment, British military, and French resistance. After having witnessed a map showing the location of HYDRA facilities in Europe while liberating the prisoners, Rogers was tasked to destroy all those facilities with a team while MI6 focused on locating the central HYDRA Headquarters. Rogers enlisted the help of Dum Dum Dugan, Gabe Jones, Jim Morita, James Montgomery Falsworth, Jacques Dernier, and Bucky Barnes.
Steve Rogers and his unit traveled to Belgium in order to destroy the HYDRA Facility located there. Once they arrived, they set the facility to explode, and escaped before the detonations went off.
Rogers and the Howling Commandos attacked facilities in France, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Russia, and Portugal, leaving them all demolished.
Red Skull arrived at one of his destroyed facilities and angrily yelled at Arnim Zola for failing to stop the attacks. Zola was then ordered to finish the mission and went on the Schnellzug EB912 travelling through the Eastern Austrian Alps along the Danube River to HYDRA Headquarters.[4]
Capture of Arnim Zola[]
Steve Rogers and the Howling Commandos followed closely behind, and after Gabe Jones confirmed Arnim Zola was a passenger, they went forward with their plan. They set up a zip-line from the cliff to the mountainside on which the tracks ran, allowing them to travel safely over the deep valley. Jones went forwards to get to Zola, while Rogers and Bucky Barnes worked as a distraction team to draw out Zola's guards.
The plan worked as Rogers and Barnes engaged the HYDRA soldiers in firefight, trading shots from behind cover. However, the two were separated by mechanical doors. Rogers killed one soldier, who had been wielding a HYDRA Cannon, and used it to blast open one of the doors. Rogers then tossed a M19111 pistol to Barnes, who had run dry of ammunition, and the two worked side by side to defeat the soldiers.
After another solider with a Cannon attacked, Rogers deflected an energy pulse. The blast ripped open the side, exposing the interior to the cold winter air outside. Barnes grabbed Rogers' shield and used it to fight the soldier. However, the soldier shot another blast, which caused Barnes to fall out of the train. Although, he managed to grab onto part of the destroyed hull. Rogers recovered and killed the soldier and then ran to save Barnes. Rogers urged Barnes to grab his hand, but the railing snapped, and Barnes fell off into the deep valley below.
Jones managed to find Zola and held him and the train's conductor at gunpoint. Afterwards, the Howling Commandos were able to be extracted with Zola as the prisoner.[4]
Siege of Bastogne[]
In December 1944, Bastogne, Belgium was the site of an engagement between Allied and German forces. One of the soldiers fighting on the American side was Daniel Sousa[9]. While fighting Sousa was in the femur by shrapnel, necessitating an amputation.[10]
Werner Reinhardt's Experiments[]
In 1945, the HYDRA Fortress was under the command of HYDRA General Werner Reinhardt, who used it to conduct experiments on his prisoners. Among the various experiments performed by Reinhardt and his lead scientist was studying the petrifying effects of the Obelisk. To this end, the occupants of the Hunan village who found the Kree artifact were imprisoned here to be test subjects.
During one session, Reinhardt taunted one of the prisoners with the beauty of the artifact while the whole session was being recorded. Reinhardt asked how the prisoner and his group managed to find the Obelisk, to which he fearfully answered that they heard a legend regarding to it.
Reinhardt politely asked the prisoner to hold the Obelisk, hiding his true intention of witnessing how the Obelisk petrified his body. However, as soon as the prisoner grabbed the artifact, his body turned to stone. The lead HYDRA Scientist remarked the speed this particular body was petrified, and Reinhardt deduced that gender and race where no factors in how the Obelisk reacted, being unable to find any pattern.
Reinhardt ordered to bring the next subject, a young woman, and again politely asked her to grab the Obelisk. Unlike the former prisoner, the woman tried to resist, but was ultimately forced to touch the item with her face, as Reinhardt claimed that discovery required experimentation. The reaction was very different as, instead of turning her into stone, the Obelisk glowed, displaying a series of symbols.
Reinhardt and the rest of HYDRA members and guards were extremely surprised about the outcome, and Reinhardt ordered to prepare the woman for surgery in order to examine what made her different.
An officer quickly arrived at the room to inform Reinhardt about the fall of Red Skull and how the Allied forces were approaching their location. Reinhardt regretted the loss of a great mind, and ordered to imprison the Chinese woman, as he and his troops went to evacuate to another facility.[7]
Capture of the HYDRA Research Facility[]
In 1945, the facility was under the command of HYDRA General Werner Reinhardt, who supervised the dismantling of the facility and the move of all the items held there in the final days of World War II. Reinhardt was specially concerned about the move of the Obelisk, reminding one of his officers about the care needed to move it and informing him of the death of their leader, Johann Schmidt, but that his vision would continue living, and HYDRA would continue to work for their goals. Reinhardt was presented with the Obelisk, admiring it once again, as he explained it was an advanced artifact that according to Schmidt, it may hold the answer to death itself, but was also responsible for the death of some of the petrified corpses that were in the facility.
As they were evacuating, the facility came under attack by the Strategic Scientific Reserve, with a team led by Peggy Carter, Dum Dum Dugan, and Jim Morita. The soldiers easily surrendered, though Carter had to threaten Reinhardt in order to make him put the Obelisk down, informing all of them that all the assets in the facility were taken under the protection of the Strategic Scientific Reserve to be relocated and indefinitely hidden.
Reinhardt, his lieutenant and all their soldiers were taken into custody, though Reinhardt menaced Carter with the HYDRA motto as Dugan was handcuffing him.
As the prisoners were taken out, the soldiers started to pack and mark every artifact held into the facility in order to move them to a secure facility. Carter personally took care that nobody, including Dugan, was able to witness the blue corpse, while explaining the need to get the items out of enemy territory as soon as possible, as Howard Stark planned to examine them that same night, and she warned Morita, who was about to put the Obelisk inside a box, to never touch it, marking the box with the reference 0-8-4.
Carter finally shared her thoughts that they had managed to beat HYDRA, as this facility was the last HYDRA site they knew of, but also commented that a peacetime permanent unit to supervise both the confiscated artifacts and people like Howard Stark that would investigate them, was necessary.[8]
Leviathan[]
In 1946, Peggy Carter and the Howling Commandos discovered the Red Room Academy in Belarus. They found a classroom that resembled an American one, which made them feel uneasy. After a projector was unintentionally set off, they saw pictures with words written in Russian. While there, they found a girl named Eva, who was crying. Dum Dum Dugan went over to see her and showed her he posed no harm, by sheathing his weapon. However, due to being trained to be an assassin, Eva stabbed Dugan in his bulletproof vest with a knife and proceeded to steal a gun, killing Junior Juniper. Carter then kicked the gun out of her hand, but Eva escaped into a vent before she could be apprehended. Later, during a fight between the Howling Commandos and Leviathan operatives, Eva returned and killed Mike Li and injured Happy Sam Sawyer.[11]
Cold War[]
In 1947, tensions between the Soviet Union and the United States of America led to the Cold War. Unknown to the Americans, HYDRA was still active within the Soviet Union and were responsible for many crises of the Cold War, including the Cuban missile crisis in 1962,[12] the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963,[13] the rise to power of Muammar Gaddafi in Libya, the 1979 Iranian Revolution, the early 1980s recession, and many other incidents. HYDRA's best assassin, the Winter Soldier, was sent by the Soviet Union to eliminate many people who posed a threat to HYDRA's plans.[12]
Also during the war, the CIA tasked Nick Fury with operations in Belfast, Ireland, Belgrade, Serbia, Bucharest, Romania, and Budapest, Hungary.[14]
In 1991, the War ended with the dissolution of the Soviet Union.[12]
Infiltration into East Berlin[]
When a group of radicals in East Berlin, Germany obtained a piece of HYDRA technology and attempted to reverse-engineer it, Hank Pym was sent by S.H.I.E.L.D. to ruin their plans. After he did successfully, he decided to do more field work for them in his suit.[15] However, his wife, Janet van Dyne, was apparently killed during a mission with him to intercept and disable Soviet ICBM in 1987.[16]
Modern Times[]
New Year's Eve[]
In 1999, Tony Stark went to a party in Bern, Switzerland where he got the interest of Maya Hansen and met Aldrich Killian.[17]
Duel of Monaco[]
- "You know, it's Europe. Whatever happens in the next twenty minutes, just go with it."
- âTony Stark to Pepper Potts[src]
In 2010, Tony Stark, facing possible death by palladium poisoning, chose to participate in the Monaco Grand Prix However, he was ambushed by Whiplash and was caught off guard, but managed to fight Whiplash and the local authorities came to arrest him.[18]
Assembling the Avengers[]
In 2012, Loki attacked a gala in Stuttgart, Germany. Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, and Natasha Romanoff arrived there via Quinjet and Rogers and Stark managed to subdue Loki. They took him onboard the Quinjet, but while in flight, Thor arrived and took Loki away. This prompted Rogers and Stark to go after them and after a brief fight in a forest, the three worked together.[19]
Search for the Mandarin[]
Once J.A.R.V.I.S. factored in available A.I.M. downlink facilities he was able to pinpoint the Mandarin's broadcast signal. When Tony Stark tried to guess the location, Europe was one of the locations that J.A.R.V.I.S. mentioned.[17]
Arrest of Vanchat[]
Agent Grant Ward of S.H.I.E.L.D. was in Paris, France attempting to capture T. Vanchat.[20]

Battle of Greenwich[]
In 2013, Jane Foster was living in London, England. One day in the fall, she went on a date with Richard Madison at a local restaurant. Their date was interrupted when Darcy Lewis arrived and told her that her scientific equipment had been picking up strange signals. Lewis and her intern, Ian Boothby, then took Foster to where the signal was highest and arrived at an abandoned warehouse. There they learned that portals to other realms throughout the universe had opened up. As they explored, Foster fell into one of them and returned infected with the Aether. Immediately after this, Thor arrived via the Bifrost Bridge in order to help Foster and left via the Bifrost again, surprising local first responders.
Still suffering from his mind being controlled, Erik Selvig was reported streaking by the Stonehenge on local news and was taken to a mental institution. Darcy Lewis and Ian Boothby went there in order to discharge Selvig as they needed his help. They grouped up at Foster's apartment and were soon reunited with Thor and Foster. Together, they made plans for the Convergence.
Soon the Convergence took place in Greenwich and portals opening up to the Nine Realms appeared over London. Malekith, the leader of the Dark Elves, arrived in the Ark, and fought against Thor. As Malekith tried to unleash the Aether's power over London, Thor fought him through the Nine Realms, managing to defeat him and send the Ark through a portal with Selvig and Foster's aid. During this time, a Frost Beast was transported into London and roamed freely around, eating a bird in an empty parking lot. Later, Thor met Foster at her apartment and opted to stay with her.[1] Coulson's Team was sent afterwards for clean-up duty, and had to battle Norse Paganists.[3]

- âGrant Ward to Phil Coulson and Melinda May[src]
Leo Fitz and Skye followed the Cybertek package to an Italian villa, where Carlo Mancini delivered the package to Ian Quinn, who arrived shortly after all of them. Fitz and Skye activated a Tracker to let the rest of their team know their location.
Skye decided to infiltrate the villa and apprehend Quinn herself, as she did not want to let Quinn escape because that is what Coulson would want them to do. Skye also asked Fitz to disable the cars, so he retrieved a Localized EMP Device and handed her a Night-Night Gun to defend herself inside the villa.
Skye was able to shoot the guard at the entrance of the compound, hitting him before he could retrieve, while Fitz hid under the different cars, disabling them with the EMP device. Inside the villa, Skye went to the basement, having overheard Sofia about the location of the package.
As she descended, she located the package, but she also saw a large Hyperbaric Chamber where Mike Peterson was being contained. However, Quinn managed to catch her by surprise, and Carlo Mancini easily disarmed her and pointed at her with her own gun.
Quinn revealed that the Clairvoyant told him to expect her, and also that he was responsible for giving Cybertek the specs of the Night-Night Gun so they could transform it into an aerosol grenade. Quinn opened the chamber and awoke Peterson, badly scarred from the explosion that cost him his right leg.
Peterson had previously received orders through his Backscatter X-Ray Eye Implant, and Quinn had bought an item from Cybertek to help him complete them. The package S.H.I.E.L.D. had been tracking turned out to be a technologically advanced prosthetic leg designed to replace his missing limb; Mancini painfully attached to Peterson's stump and activated it to expand into a fully functional leg.
Quinn dismissed Mancini, telling him he would receive his payment, then tested Peterson's loyalties, knowing that he received orders from the Clairvoyant. Peterson was not allowed to hurt Quinn, even if Quinn tried to hurt him. Skye tried to plead with Peterson, asking him to leave there with her. Peterson refused to hurt Skye, as that was not his orders, and left to fulfill his actual orders.
Skye tried to stop Peterson, but as he departed without listening, she confronted Quinn, who shot her in the stomach without saying anything, and another time at point blank range. Quinn apologized for doing it, but he also had his orders from the Clairvoyant. Quinn left the basement, leaving a badly injured Skye crawling to the door in order to ask for help with her last strength.
Peterson confronted Mancini, Sofia and the rest of the Cybertek security team, telling them they failed as they led S.H.I.E.L.D. right to them. Sofia tried to negotiate with Peterson, asking to speak to Quinn, but Peterson grabbed Sofia's neck and broke it, effectively killing her. Peterson threw Mancini through a window, and his corpse fell right next to the car Fitz was hijacking.
As Fitz tried to enter the villa to rescue Skye, Phil Coulson, Grant Ward, Melinda May and Jemma Simmons arrived to the compound, with Ward saving Fitz from a guard that was about to kill him. The whole team entered the compound, with Ward disabling Quinn's bodyguards and Coulson personally holding Quinn at gunpoint.
Peterson killed the remaining Cybertek agents, but he was ordered not to engage S.H.I.E.L.D., so he left the compound unnoticed.
Coulson interrogated Quinn about Skye's location; Quinn mocked him for sending her alone in a mission when she meant so much to him. Noticing that Quinn had blood in his hands, Coulson ordered his agents to find her in the house, but he was the one who entered the basement and located her, badly injured and dying.
Simmons promptly examined Skye, noticing she had lost too much blood, but she ordered Skye to be placed inside the Hyperbaric Chamber where Peterson was to save her life. Fitz lowered the temperature inside the chamber, managing to let Skye breathe again, as the chamber managed to stabilize her condition until she could be properly treated.
The chamber was taken to the Bus in order to get Skye to the nearest medical facility before she sustained permanent brain damage caused by a long exposure to the conditions inside the chamber.[22]
Search for the Clairvoyant[]
In search for the Clairvoyant, Agents Grant Ward and Antoine Triplett went to Milton Keynes Prison to interview Elijah Fordham, a one-time British Army soldier turned felon. Before the agents could talk to him, they were called away to deal with Deathlok fighting Felix Blake in the United States.[23]
Hunting HYDRA Cells[]
In 2014, following the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury left for Europe, intending to seek out and destroy the remaining HYDRA cells there.[12]
HYDRA's Experiments[]
In 2014, HYDRA scientist List performed experiments at the HYDRA Research Base in Sokovia on citizens to see what effect exposure to the Scepter gave;[24] only the twins Wanda and Pietro Maximoff survived the experimentation. They were granted powers, causing HYDRA leader Baron Strucker to call them "miracles".[25]
Ambush at the Belgium Safe House[]
In 2015, Agent Noelle Walters, who was stationed in the Netherlands, was told by S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Phil Coulson to have her team on standby as he researched the HYDRA attack on the United Nations Headquarters. When he learned that the mercenary Marcus Scarlotti was seeking Julien Beckers, Coulson told her to have her team find and protect Beckers in a safehouse in Bruges. Unknown to Coulson and Walters, Beckers was an ally of Scarlotti and HYDRA. Beckers allowed Scarlotti and his mercenaries to enter the safehouse and kill Walters and her team. Upon learning the truth, Melinda May, Bobbi Morse, and Lance Hunter fought and defeated the hired guns. Glenn Talbot arrested the mercenaries and Beckers was caught at the Belgium border.[26]
Duel of Faro[]
In the spring of 2015, Sif went to Faro, Portugal and found Vin-Tak, a Kree. Vin-Tak managed to hold his own against her sword and blocked it with his Truncheon. Sif hit his chest, causing the device he used to pose as human to turn his skin from blue to pink and making it lose the liquid nitrogen. When the nitrogen hit a nearby lampost, Vin-Tak hit Sif with Truncheon causing her to lose her memories. Sif was then detained.[27]
Chase of Vin-Tak[]
Phil Coulson and his team went to Portugal to see Sif at a police station. After finding out she was amnesiac, Coulson, Melinda May, and Sif went to the site in order to learn more about what happened. Meanwhile, Bobbi Morse and Skye went to a nearby hospital and found Vin-Tak. However, he defeated them and escaped. After deducing what Vin-Tak might want, they travelled to Chaves, Portugal and found him digging out a crate. He tried to fight, but they overpowered him.[27]
Attack on the HYDRA Research Base[]
In 2015, using information provided by Phil Coulson, [28] the Avengers consisting of Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Thor, Bruce Banner, Clint Barton, and Natasha Romanoff attacked the base. Baron Strucker sent Pietro and Wanda Maximoff after them, but the Avengers were successful in their mission, retrieving the Scepter. However, Barton was injured during the fight, but was taken safely back onto the Avengers' Quinjet.[29]
Seeking Aid[]
After receiving a vision, Thor went to London, England and waited outside the University of London to meet with Erik Selvig. When Selvig came out to his car, Thor asked him for his help in finding the Water of Sight in order to revisit the vision.[29]
Battle of Sokovia[]
Ultron, the artificial intelligence peacekeeping program created by Tony Stark, arrived in Sokovia in order to fulfil his genocidal plan. After capturing Natasha Romanoff, he brought her to his hideout and locked her behind bars. She was horrified upon hearing of his plans. Shortly, the Avengers, now with Wanda Maximoff, her brother, and Vision, arrived in Sokovia to warn the citizens to evacuate. During this time, Bruce Banner and Thor went to rescue Romanoff. After Banner freed her, he turned into the Hulk, and went to find the others, while Thor stayed behind and learned of Ultron's plan to use a device to lift Novi Grad high into the sky, planning to drop it and cause a massive explosion that would destroy the majority of the world, leaving only Ultron and his Sentries.
Thor then returned to the others and told them to prepare for battle. Ultron then arrived and confronted them, signaling his Sentries to assist him. The Avengers rallied in a destroyed church and fought the horde of Sentries. During the battle, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and James Rhodes arrived with a Helicarrier and provided lifeboats for the Sokovians to escape on.
After Ultron obtained control of the Quinjet, he reigned fire down upon Novi Grad, and was about to kill Clint Barton and a Sokovian boy, but Pietro Maximoff defended them, dying from the bullets as a result. Hulk jumped into the Quinjet and knocked Ultron out of it. After sensing her brother's death, Wanda Maximoff abandoned her post to protect the key in order to attack Ultron, thus causing a Sentry to activate it. Stark and Thor then worked together to stop Novi Grad from tumbling down into the earth. Vision rescued Maximoff and brought her to safety, before he confronted Ultron himself. Using his beam from the Mind Stone, he killed Ultron in a blinding light.[29]
Kidnapping of Werner von Strucker[]
- "Mr. Braun needs to see the world for what it really is."
- âGrant Ward[src]
The son of HYDRA's leader Baron Strucker, Werner von Strucker was raised away from his father's work. Instead of entering the world of terrorism Von Strucker lived a life of luxury in Ibiza, Spain, going by the name Alexander Braun. He used his father's money to purchase large boats and host parties with beautiful women.
While hosting one of these parties Grant Ward, who had learned of Braun his real identity and had traveled to Ibiza, appeared and began attacking von Strucker's security team. Despite their best efforts, the guards could not defeat the highly trained HYDRA agent and Ward eventually captured von Strucker and left Ibiza with him.[30]
Hiding Hive[]
HYDRA leader Gideon Malick took the ancient Inhuman Hive to a secret base hidden in the Schoonebeek Oil Field in Schoonebeek in the Netherlands, so that Hive could recover from his extremely weak condition. Hive remained hidden in Schoonebeek for several days, slowly recovering and learning the ways of modern Humans. He also began building an army of Inhumans, swaying R. Giyera and [31] and Lucio.
Hive slowly regained his former might. Once Malick left Schoonebeek to attend the Symposium on Alien Contagion, five Humans were brought to Hive so he could feed on their bodies and fully reconstitute his own.[32] Now that Hive had fully recovered, he briefly left Schoonebeek with Giyera and Malick to go to meet with Transia Corporation.[33]
Hijacking and Retaking of Zephyr One[]
Despite having been captured by S.H.I.E.L.D., R. Giyera managed to take control of the Zephyr One he was locked in and took the plane to Schoonebeek, into the HYDRA oil field.[34] The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents retreated in a storage room in the plane until the reinforcements arrived: Daisy Johnson leading the Secret Warriors.
During the attack, S.H.I.E.L.D. successfully captured Gideon Malick and managed to escape from Schoonebeek. However, unbeknownst to them, Johnson had been found and infected by Hive, turning her into a double agent who would soon betray her friends.[35]
Steel Serpent's Sales[]
A large part of the Hand's clients that bought their Steel Serpent using the Rand Enterprises' resources lived in Europe.[36]
Framework Network[]
With the knowledge of the Darkhold, Holden Radcliffe and Aida began perfecting the Framework. Upon completion, the code had become so powerful that it had to be processed on devices from all around the world. Part of the data was transmitted to France, Greece and Spain.[37]
ALS treatment[]
- "I will get what I need. Either from you or from some back-alley drug dealer in Amsterdam. But I would rather it be you."
"So would I." - âJeri Hogarth and Anna Zakarian[src]
Since her diagnosis with ALS, Jeri Hogarth began researching the drugs used in Europe, which are less messy then the drugs that is used in the american stated that allow it. During an unapproved visit with doctor Anna Zakarian she discussed treatment options, including using experimental drugs and even going as far as to suggest buying drugs that could end her life. When Zakarian was unable to offer any options that Hogarth wished for Hogarth told her that she would get what she needed, either from her or from some back-alley drugs dealer in Amsterdam in the Netherlands.[38]
Peggy Carter's Funeral[]
In 2016, Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson attended Peggy Carter's funeral at Saint Luke's Cathedral in London, England. Rogers was a pallbearer during the service, and Sharon Carter gave the eulogy. After the funeral, Rogers was met by Natasha Romanoff, who came to provide him moral support.[39]
Sokovia Accords[]
Bombing of the Vienna International Centre[]
Natasha Romanoff went to Vienna, Austria to the Vienna International Centre for the ratification of the Sokovia Accords. Before the ratification took place, she met T'Chaka and his son, T'Challa. As the ratification process began and T'Chaka started his speech, T'Challa noticed something suspicious outside. He then frantically told everyone to duck as a bomb exploded, killing T'Chaka. Following the explosion, Romanoff, who had survived, called Steve Rogers and informed of what happened. Rogers was already made aware as Sharon Carter had to tend to the investigation. Romanoff was met by T'Challa who told her he vowed for revenge against his father's killer.[39]
Finding Bucky Barnes[]
Bucky Barnes was living in Bucharest, Romania and was walking through the city when he learned he had been framed for the attack. He then retreated back to his apartment and was found by Steve Rogers who told him he was there to protect him from the world governments. They were then attacked by the GSG 9 and as Rogers fought them off, Barnes escaped onto the apartment's rooftop. He was then ambushed by T'Challa in his suit.
Barnes evaded T'Challa and escaped onto a highway. There he stole a motorcycle and sped off. As T'Challa continued to pursue him, Rogers followed on foot, eventually hijacking an Audi. Rogers was joined by Sam Wilson and both tried to get T'Challa away from Barnes. However, after T'Challa managed to tackle Barnes off of the motorcycle, they all were surrounded by James Rhodes and the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre, who proceeded to arrest them.
Joint Terrorist Centre[]
Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, and T'Challa were taken in a vehicle separate from Bucky Barnes to the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre Building in Berlin, Germany. Rogers had to give his shield and Wilson had to give his EXO-7 Falcon to the Centre and were then met by the CIA, most notably Everett Ross and Sharon Carter, who apologized for what was going on.
While Barnes was taken to an isolated containment cell, Rogers, Wilson, and T'Challa were taken to the Centre's meeting rooms to meet with Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff who had come to see them there. Stark tried to convince Rogers to sign the Sokovia Accords but Rogers refused, sticking to his decision. After they realized that Barnes's interrogator was acting out of character, the lights to the Centre went off, prompting Rogers and Wilson to go and check on Barnes in the cell.
Helmut Zemo had infiltrated the Centre and used the Winter Soldier Book to cause Barnes to be the Winter Soldier. When Rogers and Wilson arrived, Rogers demanded to know what Zemo had done, but was then Wilson was attacked by Barnes. Rogers tried to stop Barnes, but Barnes escaped. Wilson also tried to catch up to Zemo, but he escaped into the crowds outside.
Barnes was confronted by Romanoff, Carter, and Stark in the Centre's dining hall, but managed to evade them all. He was then confronted by T'Challa again and fought him off, escaping onto a rooftop where he hijacked a helicopter. However, Rogers arrived and stopped him, which caused them both to fall into a river below.
Following Barnes's attack, Stark and Romanoff returned to the meeting room and were met by Thaddeus Ross who asked Stark what he would do. He then told Stark he had only a certain set of hours to find Rogers and Barnes, before Ross would himself. T'Challa was then escorted out of the building by Ayo, a member of the Dora Milaje, and was met by Romanoff, who asked him to join Stark's side.
Rogers and Wilson took Barnes to an abandoned facility and learned from Barnes what Zemo had planned. Deciding they needed more help, Wilson told Rogers he knew someone, while Rogers called in reinforcements of his own. Rogers, Wilson, and Barnes then drove in a small blue car to meet Sharon Carter, who had stolen Rogers and Wilson's equipment for them. Rogers told Carter she was now on the run, but she knew, and they kissed. Afterwards, Rogers saw that Wilson and Barnes had given their approval, much to his embarrassment.[39]
Peter Parker's Arrival[]
Peter Parker was brought by Happy Hogan in the private jet to Berlin, Germany and was taken to the hotel. Inside the hotel, Hogan told Parker to open up a briefcase that had been put there. Parker opened it up and saw that he had been given a new suit, much to his delight. Hogan told him to put it on and then drove Parker to the location.[40]
Avengers Civil War[]
Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, and Bucky Barnes went to the Leipzig-Halle Airport and waited in the parking garage. They were soon joined by Clint Barton, Wanda Maximoff, and Scott Lang. After Lang was acquainted with everyone, the intercom went off in German and Barnes told them that the airport was being evacuated. Rogers then told the team to suit up.
Rogers then went out into the airport field and found that their escape vehicle, a helicopter, had been grounded. He then was surrounded as Tony Stark, James Rhodes, Natasha Romanoff, and T'Challa approached him. Despite Stark's pleas to join them, Rogers opted to stick to his plan. Stark then signaled and Peter Parker swooped in, webbing Roger's hands and taking his shield. However, Lang, in his suit, took the shield away from Parker, and handed it back to Rogers.
Barton used his arrow to free Rogers from the webbing and ran off with Maximoff. They were followed by Stark, who confronted them. As Stark was talking, Barton distracted him by missing his arrow, allowing Maximoff to open up a set of vehicles from the garage to fall onto Stark.
Inside the airport, Parker chased after Wilson and Barnes. After kicking Wilson away, Parker caught Barnes' prosthetic arm and was surprised by it. He was then tackled by Wilson who flew him up above. Eventually, Parker got the upper hand and webbed both Wilson and Barnes, causing them to fall to the floor below. Wilson then used Redwing to carry Parker away through a window.
As Rogers, Barnes, Wilson, Maximoff, Barton, and Lang regrouped, they headed for a Quinjet in the hangar, but were stopped by Vision. Stark, Romanoff, Parker, and T'Challa met up with them and engaged in a clash. During the clash, Maximoff aided Barton and Barnes against Romanoff and T'Challa, while Lang tried to incapacitate Stark, but was forced out by Stark's AI, F.R.I.D.A.Y.. Parker confronted Rogers, telling him he was a fan and he and Rogers exchanged where they were both from.
After realizing they all wouldn't make it to the Quinjet, Wilson and Barton told Rogers they would distract the others to allow him and Barnes to escape. Lang offered his help and turned into Giant Man causing a distraction, with Rhodes, Stark, and Parker trying to take him down. As Rogers and Barnes made it to the hangar, Vision tried to knock it down, but Maximoff held it up. However, Rhodes arrived and used his sonic cannon to prevent Maximoff from using her powers.
Despite this, Rogers and Barnes made it into the hangar and were met by Romanoff, who decided to let them go, and fought off T'Challa. Lang was defeated by Parker, Stark, and Rhodes, and Stark told Parker he was done, as the fight was concluding. As Rogers and Barnes made it into the Quinjet and took off, Stark and Rhodes attempted to follow. Wilson followed as well, and Rhodes asked Vision to get Wilson off his back, but Vision, distracted, missed the beam and shot Rhodes instead. Rhodes became paralyzed and fell to the ground below, where Stark met him and sent him back home with a medical team.
Peter Parker was picked up by Happy Hogan and taken back to the hotel in Berlin and filmed himself detailing his experience. However, he was too loud, as Hogan entered his room telling him the walls were thin. The next day, Parker and Hogan were joined by Tony Stark and together flew in the private jet and left Europe.[39]
Helmut Zemo's Arrest[]
Hours later, T'Challa took Helmut Zemo into custody and notified Everett Ross and the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre, bringing him to the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre Building. There Zemo was placed into a containment cell and was approached by Ross, who told him that he worked hard but failed, in which Zemo asked him if it really failed.[39]
The Fall of the Red Room[]
Natasha Romanoff, having violated the Sokovia Accords, fled to Norway and met with her old friend, Rick Mason, at a trailer hideout. There she received new identities and was able to lay low. After receiving a package, she headed into town to get gas for her vehicle, but was ambushed on a bridge by the Taskmaster. After trying to defend herself, Romanoff realized that the assailant was after her package, so she took its contents out of it. She was shortly kicked back into the river below and learned that the package was from her adopted sister.
Yelena Belova went to Budapest, Hungary, and waited for Natasha Romanoff's arrival at the safehouse. Romanoff arrived via train and walked from the train station to the safehouse. Upon entering she drew her gun and confronted Belova, with the two engaging in a fight, before coming to a truce. Belova then told Romanoff about the Red Room still being operational and the Red Dust vials. They were soon attacked by other Black Widows who came to get the vials and were forced to escape by the roof.
They escaped onto a motorcycle, before eventually hijacking a man's car and were able to get away from the Black Widows. However, they were soon chased down throughout the city's streets by Taskmaster as well. Taskmaster arrived in a tank and shot an explosive arrow underneath their car, causing the car to flip upside down and for them to fall into a subway station. Taskmaster continued to pursue them, but they managed to hide within the station. Afterwards, Romanoff and Belova went to a drug store to pick up first aid supplies and then to a restaurant, where they caught up with each other's lives.
The next day, Romanoff and Belova met with Rick Mason who supplied them with an aircraft and two white uniforms. The two then flew off to Seventh Circle Prison in Russia. They succeeded in dropping a Red Guardian action figure carrying an earpiece into the prison and their adopted father, Alexei Shostakov, was able to use it to escape. After a prison riot occurred, Romanoff jumped out of the aircraft to help Shostakov escape. Attempting to help, Belova shot a missile in the direction of the prison, only to hit the mountain in the back, causing an avalanche. However, Romanoff and Shostakov were able to get inside the aircraft.
Shostakov told them he didn't know about the whereabouts of the Red Room and told them to go to St. Petersburg. After a rough landing, they made it to Melina Vostokoff's farm and were reunited with her. Vostokoff told them that she knew where they could find the Red Room as she was still running experiments using mind control devices, showing them one of her test subjects, a pig named Alexei. As she and Romanoff caught up and devised a plan to infiltrate the Red Room, Shostakov spent time with Belova, who was upset as she wanted them to be a real family. Romanoff and Vostokoff switched clothes and used Photostatic Veils to disguise themselves, before sending the Red Room their location in order to begin their plan.
The Red Room was revealed to be in an aerial aircraft. Romanoff successfully tricked Dreykov, the leader of the Red Room, and infiltrated it. However, she learned that Taskmaster was actually Dreykov's daughter, Antonia Dreykov, and had been brainwashed by her father to be the mercenary. Elsewhere, Belova freed herself from her captives, while Shostakov and Vostokoff woke up in two adjoining cells. After releasing themselves from the cells, Vostokoff attempted to take out the aircraft's engine. When Dreykov escaped, he sent his Black Widows to stop Romanoff, but she was saved after Belova sent a Red Dust bomb to explode over the Widows, freeing them from their brainwashing. As the aircraft began to fall apart, Romanoff used a portable device to copy the locations of the other Widows around the world, and freed Antonia from the cell. Vostokoff and Shostakov escape in a smaller aircraft, while Belova destroyed Dreykov's escape aircraft, killing him.
Romaonff provided Belova with a parachute, and was tackled by Taskmaster, before safely landing on the ground, as the aircraft's parts fall around them. Romanoff, Belova, Shostakov, and Vostokoff take time to recognize their bonds as a family and Romanoff uses the Red Dust to free Antonia from her brainwashing. The other Black Widows land in another aircraft and Romanoff tells her family to go with them, as she sees Thaddeus Ross and his men approach from a distance. Before they depart, Belova gives Romanoff her vest, and Romanoff gives her the drive to free the other Widows.[5]
Ulysses Klaue's Theft[]
Erik Killmonger and Ulysses Klaue went to London, England and devised a plan to steal a Vibranium rtifact from the Museum of Great Britain. Killmonger's love interest, Linda, pretended to be a museum caterer and gave a poisoned drink to one of the museum's curators. Killmonger then struck up a conversation with the curator and observed how she slowly died from the poison. Klaue and a few mercenaries then arrived in EMT gear and an ambulance, pretending to be of service, before shooting and killing the musuem's security and remaining curators. Klaue then stole the artifact and Killmonger and Linda joined him in the ambulance as they made their escape.[41]
Vienna Meeting[]
T'Challa, Nakia, Okoye, and Ayo went to Vienna, Austria to the remodeled Vienna International Centre to attend a United Nations meeting. They met Everett Ross there who was pleased in what T'Challa was doing. During the meeting, T'Challa declared that Wakanda would be open to the rest of the world and would share its resources.[41]
Attack on the London Sanctum[]
In 2017, Kaecilius and the Zealots transported themselves via portals to London, England and went to the London Sanctum. There they confronted the Sanctum's protector, Sol Rama, and killed him. They then proceeded to destroy the Sanctum.[42]
Odinâs Death[]
In late 2017, Thor and Loki were transported via portal to Norway where they found Odin. They sat down next to him and he told them that he loved both of them. He then warned them of their sister's return upon his death. After he exchanged his goodbyes, he disappeared in a golden light, leaving Thor and Loki alone.
Within seconds, another portal opened up before them, causing Thor and Loki to get suited up. Hela then stepped out of it and confronted them. After sensing Hela as a threat, Thor threw MjĂžlnir at her, but to his surprise, she caught it and then shattered it to pieces. Alarmed by this, Loki summoned the Bifrost Bridge and he and Thor escaped through it. They were subsquently followed by Hela.[43]
Infinity War[]
In the spring of 2018, two members of the Black Order, Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive, flew a Q-Ship to Edinburgh in order to retrieve the Mind Stone, as Vision was living there with Wanda Maximoff. Maximoff and Vision were walking through the streets when they saw from a store window a SBN report about an alien attack, which frightened Maximoff.
Before they could react, Vision was ambushed by Glaive who stabbed him with his weapon preventing him from phasing. Maximoff was thrown into a nearby store by Midnight, and the two tried to take the Stone out of Vision. However, Maximoff recovered and knocked them away, escaping with Vision. Midnight and Glaive soon caught up to them and Glaive and Vision fought on top of a church, while Maximoff and Midnight fought below in the streets. Vision used his beam to attack Glaive, but when Glaive deflected it, it destroyed vehicles in the street, causing a fire.
After Glaive had pinned Vision against the bell tower, Maximoff threw Midnight into a truck that had been caught on fire, and flew up to the tower and rescued Vision. She then flew with Vision away, but Midnight used her spear to blast them, causing them to fall violently into a train station. Maximoff tried to get Vision to stand up, but he was too weak. Midnight and Glaive then arrived into the station and confronted them, with Maximoff preparing to defend herself and Vision against them.
However, Midnight then sensed another person's presence in the station and turned her attention past Maximoff, where Steve Rogers approached. Midnight threw her spear at him but he caught it much to her shock. Maximoff was relieved upon seeing Rogers, and soon Sam Wilson and Natasha Romanoff entered the fight. Romanoff managed to injure Glaive with Midnight's spear and after Midnight realized she was outnumbered, chose to retreat back into her Q-Ship. Wilson, Romanoff, and Rogers then met with Maximoff and Vision, and Wilson helped Vision walk, as Rogers led them to their Quinjet.[44]
New Asgard[]
In 2018, Valkyrie, Korg, Miek, and the surviving Asgardians arrived in TĂžnsberg, Norway and waited for Thor's arrival. Three weeks later, Thor met up with them and they officially established TĂžnsberg as their new place to live, renaming it New Asgard. In 2023, Rocket and Bruce Banner took the Benatar to New Asgard and met with Valkyrie, who told them about Thor's condition. They met with Thor at his hut and eventually recruited him to return to the team.[45]
Later, Thor returned to New Asgard. He was joined by the Guardians of the Galaxy, who all except for Rocket, remained in the Benatar. Thor passed on his mantle of leadership onto Valkyrie, stating that he would be joining the Guardians, and then left with them.[45]
Return of the Deviants[]
Two Eternals named Sersi and Sprite took up residence in London, England. While living there, Sersi met a man named Dane Whitman and began a romantic relationship with him. Following the Blip, the three were leaving a party when they were ambushed by Kro, the leader of the Deviants. However, they were rescued by Ikaris, another Eternal. Following the attack, they learn that the Deviant can heal itself. Sersi used her powers to make Whitman, Sersi, and Ikaris appear invisible.[46]
Sersi's Judgment[]
Later, Sersi and Sprite returned to London where Sersi and Dane Whitman said goodbye to Sprite, as she was leaving to live elsewhere. Sersi and Whitman then went out to the countryside to spend time together. As Whitman was about to tell Sersi about his family's history, Arishem the Judge, the leader of the Celestials, broke through the atmosphere, revealing himself in the sky. His presence caused a significant weather change throughout London, making it feel as if a massive earthquake happened. His presence also caused a resounding boom, resulting in people closeby falling on the ground. Gold coils were then wrapped around Sersi and she was transported off of Earth, much to Whitman's shock and confusion.[46]

In late 2023, Wanda Maximoff traveled to Sokovia and went into hiding in a cabin in the mountains. There, she lived alone in order to learn more about her Scarlet Witch powers. She learned to project herself in the Astral Dimension and read the Darkhold in hopes it would help her understand her powers.[47]
Flag Smashers' Political Ultimatum[]
In 2024, the Flag Smashers, an anti-nationalist terrorist organization robbed the Gasel Bank in Switzerland. JoaquĂn Torres, a U.S. Air Force lieutenant, arrived in Gasel to to stop them but was attacked by Dovich, one of the members. Swiss medical units arrived outside the bank and helped Torres recover from his injury.[48]
The next day, Redwing tracked the Flag Smashers in Munich, Germany. Following this revelation, Torres flew Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes in an aircraft there so they could apprehend the Flag Smashers. Wilson and Barnes found them in an abandoned warehouse putting medicines in a truck and ran after them. However, he and Barnes were both outnumbered. John Walker and Lemar Hoskins arrived to provide backup, but were defeated as well, and the Flag Smashers escaped. Wilson and Barnes then walked down the highway towards the airport but were offered a ride in a jeep by Walker and Hoskins. However, they ended up leaving the jeep and walking to the airport instead.
The Flag Smashers retreated to a bar in Munich called 1337 Connect and were assisted by their ally, Rudy. After the leader Karli Morgenthau, received threatening texts from unknown person they were forced to purge all traces of their identity as Interpol was looking for them. They left Munich and travelled to Bratislava, Slovakia to load their boxes of medicines into an aircraft. During this time, authorities arrive, prompting Matias, one of the Flag Smashers, to sacrifice himself so the others could fly away.[49]
Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, deciding they needed answers about the Flag Smashers, travelled to Berlin, Germany to the Berlin Correctional Facility to see Helmut Zemo. As Wilson waited in a garage, Barnes spoke with Zemo and gave him the means to escape the prison. Zemo then got his belongings from his garage and took Barnes and Wilson to his private airfield where he was reunited with his family's butler, Oeznik. Oeznik then flew the three out of Berlin.
Meanwhile, John Walker and Lemar Hoskins went to the 1337 Connect in Munich and interrogated Rudy, but was left with no answers. They later went to the Berlin Correctional Facility and found out that Zemo had escaped. Karli Morgenthau went to Riga, Latvia to see Donya Madani in the Latvian GRC Resettlement Camp who was dying. Afterwards, she and Dovich went to Lithuania to the Lithuanian GRC Supply Depot and planted explosives there.
Later, Barnes, Wilson, and Zemo travelled to Riga where Zemo took them to his residence there. As Wilson went with Zemo, Barnes investigated the appearance of Kimoyo Beads and encountered Ayo, a member of the Dora Milaje.[50]
In Riga, Barnes told Ayo that he needed more time with Zemo. He then returned to Wilson and Zemo and investigated the Latvian GRC Resettlement Camp. Zemo was able to find the location of Donya Madani's funeral by asking a local girl. On their way to the location, they were found by John Walker and Lemar Hoskins who joined them. After the funeral ended, Wilson tried to speak with Morgenthau about her actions, but Walker interrupted them causing her to flee. Zemo then tried to kill her and was able to destroy all the Super Soldier Serum vials except for one, which Walker took, after knocking Zemo out with Captain America's Shield.
Back at Zemo's residence, Zemo recovered from his injury and spoke with Wilson about super soldiers. Walker and Hoskins shortly arrived to arrest Zemo, and were interrupted by Ayo and two other Dora named Nomble and Yama. After Walker tried to prevent Ayo from interrupting his plan, a scuffle ensued, in which Zemo escaped. Barnes and Wilson then left and tried to locate the Flag Smashers. After Wilson received word that Morgenthau wanted to speak with him, he suited up and went with Barnes to meet her.
In a local café, Walker took the serum and discussed it with Hoskins, before going after the Flag Smashers. Hoskins was captured, while Walker fought off the Flag Smashers, and was joined by Barnes. Wilson and Morgenthau shortly arrived and during the fight, Morgenthau accidentally punched Hoskins causing him to break his neck against a stone pillar. This caused Walker to become enraged and using his new strength, used Captain America's Shield to kill Nico, a Flag Smasher, in the public square.[51]
After Walker ran away into an abandoned warehouse, Wilson and Barnes chased after him and approached him, stating that he needed to hand over the shield. Not wanting to give it up, Walker chose to fight them instead. After a fierce fight, in which Walker damaged Wilson's suit, and Barnes and Wilson forcibly removed the shield from Walker, breaking his arm in the process, Wilson reclaimed ownership of it. He and Barnes then left the warehouse, leaving an unconscious Walker.
Wilson and Barnes went to the Latvian GRC Resettlement Camp and were met by JoaquĂn Torres. After Barnes left, Wilson passed his mantle over to Torres, leaving his suit behind as he left with the shield.
The Flag Smashers, prompted by Karli Morgenthau, who was angry about the recent losses, decide to leave Riga and enact their next move against the Global Repatriation Council.[52]
Helmut Zemo's Second Arrest[]
Helmut Zemo travelled to Sokovia and went to the Sokovian Memorial and was eventually met by Bucky Barnes. Barnes showed Zemo he posed no threat by aiming a blank gun at him. Ayo, Nomble, and Yama then arrived in a Royal Talon Fighter to arrest Zemo. As Nomble and Yama took Zemo to the Fighter, Barnes asked Ayo to make a new suit.[52]

Midtown School Trip[]
- "Everyone's so nice here."
- âPeter Parker[src]
In the summer of 2024, Midtown School of Science and Technology organized a trip for students to go to Europe and tour various countries. Most notably, Peter Parker attended the trip and was accompanied by Ned Leeds, Michelle Jones, Flash Thompson, Betty Brant, and others. They were chaperoned by two teachers, Roger Harrington and Julius Dell. The group landed in Venice, Italy, and toured the town, until Hydro-Man disrupted their visit, forcing them to return to the hotel. That night, Parker was visited by Talos who was impersonating Nick Fury and was taken to a secret location, where he was given glasses and was introduced to Quentin Beck.[54]
The next day, the group took a bus and traveled through Austria to their next location. Along the way, they stopped at a rest area, where Parker was met by the Seamstress who provided him with another suit. Back on the bus, Parker learned that the glasses he was given obtained access to the E.D.I.T.H. intelligence system. He used this to activate a drone to target Brad Davis, but at the last second, decided against it, and managed to destroy the drone.
That night, they arrived in Prague, Czech Republic. While the group went to an opera concert, Parker was tasked with preparing for the next attack. When the Molten Man appeared at the Carnival of Lights, Parker and Beck worked together to defeat it. After Beck had defeated it, he and Parker went to a bar and Parker decided to give him the glasses. When Parker left, Beck revealed that the bar had been an illusion and that he had orchestrated the attacks using B.A.R.F. technology.
That night, Parker learned that the trip to Europe was ending the next day. Upset about this, he asked Michelle Jones to go for a walk with him outside their hotel. During the walk, Jones revealed she knew his secret identity and together they learned from a drone piece she obtained that Beck was a fraud and was using illusions to create attacks. Parker then returned to the hotel, suited up, and told Leeds what they'd learned about Beck, before leaving.
Parker arrived in Berlin, Germany and was met by Fury, who took him to an abandoned building. However, Parker then realized that Fury and the building were illusions and that Beck had tricked him into a trap. Beck proceeded to antagonize Parker with a series of illusions until removing them once Parker had been lured onto a train track. Before Parker could react, a train ran into him. Fortunately, he survived and crawled into a train car where he collasped.
When Parker regained consciousness, he found himself in a prison cell with three Dutch football fans in Broek op Langedijk in the Netherlands. After escaping, he asked a local for his phone and called Happy Hogan. Hogan arrived shortly afterwards in a private jet and picked Parker up in a wildflower field.[54]
Battle of London[]
On the jet, Parker created a new suit and told Happy Hogan to rescue his friends. Upon arriving in London, England, Parker jumped off the jet and headed towards the Tower Bridge, where Quentin Beck had launched his final illusion attack in order to gain worldwide public attention. In addition, he used the drones to target Michelle Jones and Ned Leeds, who along with their group, were forced to escape their bus, and fled to safety. However, the two decided to leave the group to protect them, and along with Flash Thompson and Betty Brant, were found by Hogan. After the jet had been destroyed by drones, they proceeded to escape in a nearby museum.
Parker destroyed the drones, causing the illusion to end, and confronted Beck. As Beck tried to kill Parker with the drones, one of the drones misfired and shot him instead, killing him. Parker then obtained possession of the glasses again and ordered E.D.I.T.H. to send the remaining drones away. Afterwards, Parker reunited with Jones, and they all went to the London airport and left Europe.
Meanwhile, Talos and Soren who had fallen for Beck's deception and realized it in London called Nick Fury to tell him about it. Talos told him that he had given the glasses to Parker and also that they needed his help.[54]
After Parker's identity was exposed and he was branded as a criminal due to doctored footage released by The Daily Bugle, 10 Downing Street demanded that the United States of America's government pay for repairs to the Tower Bridge.[55] Soon after, news stations throughout Europe, such as SBN reported on the Tower Bridgeâs destruction and the revelation that Parker was Spider-Man. Additionally, SBN reported that Interpol had deduced that âNight Monkeyâ was Spider-Man and that there was political turmoil in New Asgard.[56]

Steve Rogers' Heroism[]
- "Who are you supposed to be?"
"I'm Captain America." - âGabe Jones and Steve Rogers[src]
In an alternate universe, World War II plagued Europe, including an attack in a Norwegian town. HYDRA marched their forces through Azzano, Italy, so the Allied Forces sent the 107th Infantry Regiment to fight the soldiers. However, HYDRA won the ensuing battle and the soldiers were captured.
A short time later, Steve Rogers was sent to Italy to perform his USO show for the 107th infantry, but they were not entertained. While comforting Rogers, Peggy Carter explained that a significant portion of the 107th regiment had been captured, and Rogers grew frustrated when he learned that there was no rescue plan. With help from Carter and Howard Stark, Rogers went to HYDRA Base Camp C3 where soldiers were held on his own and freed them, including his best friend Bucky Barnes. Rogers learned the locations of several HYDRA bases and that Johann Schmidt was experimenting with dangerous explosives.
Chester Phillips authorized Rogers to put together a team of soldiers with the mission of capturing HYDRA's facilities. The team went through Europe and did so, culminating in them managing to capturing HYDRA's lead scientist in what was supposed to be a trap. The Special Scientific Reserve learned from the scientist that Schmidt planned to destroy several major cities, so they joined Rogers' team in attacking. Rogers fought Schmidt, hoping to be able to stop him.[61]
