"You got me?"
"I got ya."
―Talos and Soren[src]

Soren was a Skrull and the wife of Talos. During the Kree-Skrull War, she hid inside Mar-Vell's Laboratory cloaked in Earth's orbit, along with her daughter G'iah and other Skrull refugees. In 1995, she was found by Talos, Carol Danvers, Nick Fury and Maria Rambeau and was brought to Earth temporarily before leaving with the rest of her race to find a new home. In 1997, she was among a handful of Skrulls who returned to Earth in order to impersonate humans and aid Fury's spy career in exchange for Fury promising to find them a new home.

In 2024, Soren and Talos were called upon by Fury, who decided to leave Earth and stay in space, to deliver Tony Stark's E.D.I.T.H. glasses to Peter Parker on his behalf. Impersonating Maria Hill for the mission, Soren came into conflict with several Elementals and worked alongside Spider-Man and Mysterio before they learned of Mysterio's fraudulence. As a result of Fury's failure to deliver on his promise as well as his decision to stay in space, the Skrulls on Earth fractured into two divisions, with a resistance group led by Gravik seeking to eradicate humanity and forcibly obtain Earth for themselves. Soren joined her husband in opposing the radical faction, which led to her being killed by Gravik.

Kree-Skrull War[]

Hiding inside Mar-Vell's Laboratory[]

"Mar-Vell warned us not to send a signal for any reason or the Kree would find us."
―Soren to Talos[src]

Soren's husband Talos was a Skrull commander in the war against the Kree Empire. After their home planet of Skrullos was destroyed, Soren, her daughter G'iah, and a number of other Skrull refugees escaped and wandered the universe in search of refuge from the Kree. By the year 1989, the refugees had found an ally in the rogue Kree scientist Mar-Vell. While Talos and his crew continued to search the universe for a new home planet, Soren, her child, and a group of other refugees moved in to Mar-Vell's Laboratory over Earth.

However, the location was not made known to the other Skrulls before Mar-Vell was assassinated, causing Soren to lose contact with her husband. For the next six years, Soren and the other refugees lived as quietly as they could in Mar-Vell's lab, as Soren raised G'iah. Talos himself spent the next six years trying to find out what exactly happened to Mar-Vell with the hopes of reuniting with his family, serving as the General of the remaining Skrull forces fighting for survival.[3]

Battle at Mar-Vell's Laboratory[]

Talso and Soren

Soren is finally reunited with Talos

With help from Kree Starforce member Carol Danvers, Maria Rambeau, and Nick Fury, Talos and Soren were finally reunited in 1995. Unfortunately, the Starforce had also figured out their location. Starforce arrived and rounded up the Skrulls and planned on ejecting them into space despite them being civilians and unarmed non-combatants.

However, when Danvers unlocked her full powers, a battle broke out as the Skrulls and their human allies tried to escape the Kree. Most of the Skrulls were non-combatants, and Soren took measures to protect G'iah during the fight. Talos successfully impersonated a Kree soldier and pretended to round up the Skrulls, when in actuality he helped them load onto the Quadjet. Piloted by Rambeau, the ship fled the battle and returned to Earth. However, they were pursued by Minn-Erva. Eventually, Rambeau shot down Minn-Erva, after out-maneuvering her in an air battle. By the end of the battle, Danvers had successfully destroyed the Kree armada.[3]

Finding a New Home[]

Skrull-Human Family Dinner

Soren and her family have dinner at the Rambeau Residence

"I borrowed his likeness. I'm no thief."
"It is a little like stealing."
"Whose side are you on here?"
―Talos and Soren[src]

After the Kree were defeated, the Skrull refugees traveled to the Rambeau Residence for a meal with their rescuers. As they all had dinner, Talos told his family of everything he'd done to reunite with them, while Soren was taken aback that Talos stole a man's identity.

The Skrulls soon began discussing what to do now. Captain Marvel offered to serve as their protector as they traveled the universe in search of a new home planet. Soren and her family agreed to this proposition, and the Skrulls loaded into Mar-Vell's Laboratory and departed into space.[3]

Secret Spy on Earth[]

Working for Nick Fury[]

Soren (1997)

"This is the promise. While you work to keep my home safe, Carol Danvers and I will find you a new one. Who'll be first to take the pledge? Thank you, Soren. You have a courageous mother, G'iah."
―Nick Fury[src]

Soren and the Skrulls were unsuccessful in finding a new planet for their people, so Talos and Nick Fury worked out a deal and organized a meeting for Skrulls who would like to flee to Earth. Soren and G'iah attended the meeting in which Fury promised to provide shelter on Earth while he and Carol Danvers sought a new home for the Skrulls, in exchange for the Skrulls serving as Fury's spy network.

Soren Human Form

Assuming a human form in a show of allegiance, Soren was the first to step forwards and take the offer, an act Fury thanked her for, praising her bravery. The rest of the Skrulls then agreed to Fury's terms, and Fury assured them that he would keep his word.[4]

Impersonating Maria Hill[]

Elemental Attacks[]

"Nick, this was a tragedy, but it's not why we're here. What, are we fighting the weather now?"
"Locals say the cyclone had a face."
"People say things when they're under stress. That does not mean that this is the start to some other big, world ending–"
―Soren and Talos[src]

By 2024, Soren and Talos had returned to Earth to work with Nick Fury and Maria Hill. While Fury and Hill attended to other matters, Talos and Soren were tasked with impersonating them. Fury tasked them with making sure Tony Stark's Glasses and E.D.I.T.H. were given to Peter Parker, revealing to them that he was Spider-Man. Eight months after the Blip, they traveled to Ixtenco, Mexico, where a "cyclone with a face" had recently wrecked the small town. There, they encountered a Sandman before immediately being shielded by a man named Quentin Beck, who defeated Sandman. Beck would go on to explain that he was a superhero from an alternate dimension who had come to this version of Earth to protect it from the Elementals that were projected to strike in the coming weeks.

While Beck showed a mastery of his abilities and managed to defeat Cyclone in Morocco days later, Talos and Soren thought it would be wise to find another superhero to help Beck out. Unfortunately, they were unaware of how to contact any other superheroes, causing them to recruit the only one they knew of: Peter Parker.[1]

Recruiting Spider-Man[]

"Uh... yes, ma'am."

After Hydro-Man struck in Venice, Italy, where Peter Parker and his schoolmates happened to be visiting, Talos tracked Parker down and explained the situation to him. Soren was quick to point out that this was functionally a kidnapping of Parker but relented that they needed as much help as they could get. When Parker initially declined, Talos re-routed the school trip to the projected location of the fourth Elemental Molten Man in Prague. After the battle, Talos and Soren were impressed by the performance of Beck, now going by Musterio, and requested that he join them in Berlin, where they planned to discuss the formation of a new team of superheroes.[1]

Battle of London[]

Beck never appeared at the Europol headquarters, but soon afterwards, a fifth elemental appeared in London, England. After they received a coded phone call from Happy Hogan and hearing Beck explain the existence of the previously unmentioned monster very vaguely and clumsily, Talos and Soren easily realized that Beck was a fraud and that he was the one behind all of the attacks. Husband and wife fought side by side against the swarm of drones and projections, as Soren climbed to the roof of the building and used a rocket launcher to save Talos' life from a decloaked drone sent to assassinate him. After Beck's defeat and demise, Talos tried to claim that he was suspicious of Beck all along; however, Soren called him out for this.[1]

Contacting Nick Fury[]

Skrulls (Spider-Man Far From Home)

Soren and Talos resuming their true forms

"You gotta tell him."
"It was fine. The little boy handled it. We helped."
"Talos."
―Soren and Talos[src]

Around a week later, Soren called Talos out for letting the situation get so far out of hand and ordered him to call Nick Fury about Mysterio's deception. Talos was initially adamant that everything worked out fine, but he eventually heeded to Soren's words and concluded his message with a request that Fury return to Earth.[5]

Death[]

"I understand. You're taking a risk."
"A risk? Is that what you explained to Mum, that following you could get her killed?"
"Your mother died while you were working for her killer."
―Talos and G'iah[src]

By 2026, the Skrull community hiding on Earth were split into two factions, one of which was led by Talos who adopted a pacifist approach to humans and the other by the extremist Gravik who sought to exterminate humanity and re-establish Earth as the Skrulls’ new home New Skrullos. The rising popularity of Gravik eventually got Talos kicked off of the Skrull Council, and in the chaos, Gravik became a member of the council. Although Soren stayed with her husband all along, their daughter G'iah joined Gravik's cause. Soren was eventually killed by Gravik without G'iah even knowing. Talos, however, would eventually tell Gi'ah, causing her to gradually doubt Gravik's cause.[6]

Personality[]

"It worked."
"Only because I had serious doubts about Beck from the beginning."
"Not true. He had zero doubts."
―Happy Hogan, Talos and Soren[src]

Soren was uncomfortable with some of the darker aspects of the war, such as her husband's casual identity theft of R. Keller or what amounted to the kidnapping of Peter Parker. Still, she stood by her husband through everything, having waited for him for at least six years and fighting by his side when tasked with impersonating Maria Hill and Nick Fury. She often showed a more level head than her husband, and called him out for some of the poorer decisions he'd made with no qualms about hurting his pride. They frequently banter, but their bickering is good-natured. Soren is extremely loyal to her husband and had trust in him, as she still sided with him after the rise of the extremist Skrull Resistance and Gravik who were hellbent on conquering Earth.
