Wonder Man is an upcoming American web television series, based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name. It is the twenty-ninth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the third installment under the Marvel Spotlight banner. The series is produced by Marvel Television and Family Owned and will be released on Disney+.
The first season will premiere in December 2025.[4]

Production[]
On December 6, 2021, Deadline reported that Destin Daniel Cretton had entered into an exclusive multi-year overall deal with Marvel Studios to develop television projects for Disney+ with a television series already in development. It was also reported that the television projects would be produced through Cretton's company Family Owned.[12]
On June 16, 2022, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Marvel Studios was developing a television series centered on Wonder Man for Disney+ with Andrew Guest attached to write and Destin Daniel Cretton attached to executive produce. It was also reported that Cretton and Guest would act as co-creators for the series. Furthermore, it was reported that the series could begin production in 2023.[1]
On August 30, 2022, Variety reported that Ben Kingsley would be reprising his role as Trevor Slattery in the series.[6]
On October 31, 2022, Deadline reported that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II had been cast as the title character in the series.[5]
On January 20, 2023, it was reported that the series was scheduled to start production in March under the working title "Callback".[13]
On February 3, 2023, it was reported that James Ponsoldt would direct at least one episode of the series.[14]
On February 22, 2023, Deadline reported that Stella Meghie would direct episodes of the series.[15] Two days later, Deadline reported that Lauren Glazier had joined the cast of the series in an undisclosed role.[9]
On March 29, 2023, TVLine reported that Demetrius Grosse had joined the cast of the series and that he would portray Eric Williams/Grim Reaper.[7] Two days later, it was reported that Ed Harris had joined the cast of the series and that he would portray Neal Saroyan.[8]
On April 3, 2023, it was reported that the series had begun production in Los Angeles.[16]
On May 9, 2023, Deadline reported that the production of the series had been suspended twice due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike.[17] Three days later, it was reported that the production of the series had been shut down for a week due to the strike.[18]
On May 25, 2023, Deadline reported that the production of the series had been shut down due to the writers strike and that the series would resume production after the strike was resolved.[19]
On November 15, 2023, Deadline reported that the series would be one of the projects released under the Marvel Spotlight banner.[2]
On January 12, 2024, it was revealed that the series had resumed production.[20]
On April 4, 2024, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the series had wrapped production.[21]
On May 5, 2024, it was reported that Tiffany Johnson had directed at least one episode of the series.[22]
On July 15, 2024, Deadline reported that Byron Bowers had joined the cast of the series in an undisclosed role.[10]
On August 19, 2024, Variety reported that Josh Gad had joined the cast of the series in an undisclosed role.[11]
On October 30, 2024, it was announced that the series would premiere in December 2025.[4]
On November 13, 2024, during an interview, Brad Winderbaum revealed that the series' first season would consist of eight episodes.[23]
