The Vienna International Centre is a complex in Vienna that serves as a facility of the United Nations.
History[]
In 2016, after a terrorist attack in Lagos, United Nations created the Sokovia Accords, a document for supervising enhanced individuals. The United Nations passed the Accords and arranged a formal ceremony at the Vienna International Centre in Austria.
Among those in attendance at the ceremony were Natasha Romanoff, King T'Chaka of Wakanda and his son, Prince T'Challa. T'Chaka opened the proceedings with the keynote address, citing Wakandaâs involvement in Ultron's plan for global genocide and the recent destruction in Lagos as his reasons for supporting the Accords.
T'Challa, who had been observing the speech, suddenly noticed a commotion outside the building and learned that a bomb had been planted in the ADS News van. Despite his attempts to evacuate the room, the bomb planted by Helmut Zemo decimated the building. As chaos ensued, a wounded T'Challa found his father's corpse and cradled him in his arms.[1] As the survivors regained consciousness and attempted to evacuate, journalist Jeffrey Mace helped free those who were trapped under rubble.[2]
T'Challa gave a speech as the new King of Wakanda at the United Nations in the rebuilt Vienna International Centre, officially ending Wakanda's isolation from the rest of the world.[3]
