Wanda Maximoff's Hideout is a house used by Wanda Maximoff to hide and isolate herself from the world.

History[]

First Hideout[]

Wanda Maximoff's Cabin

Wanda Maximoff living in her cabin

To avoid any more unwanted attention following her mind-controlling the town of Westview, Wanda Maximoff relocated to the mountains and lived in a cabin. There she remained isolated and spent her time trying to understand her powers. Having acquired the Darkhold, she read it and learned about the Astral Dimension and how to project herself in it. One day, Maximoff sat aside enjoying the peacefulness while her tea brewed. As she went inside to get the tea, her astral form studied the Darkhold. As she studied, she heard her children crying out for help and shut the book in alarm.[1]

Second Hideout[]

Relocation[]

Wanda Maximoff's Hideout (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness)

Wanda Maximoff's new hideout

In 2024, Wanda Maximoff moved from the mountains and constructed her cabin in a flat plantation field. Each night, she had dreams of her children and her last moments with them, before waking up and realising they weren't there.[2]

Continued Studies of the Darkhold[]

Wanda Maximoff soon became influenced by the Darkhold, learning about the Multiverse and that she had her children in other universes, causing her to be obsessed with reuniting with her children. She sectioned off any universe that didn't have her children so she could focus on particular universes that did. Her studies let her learn of a supernatural being capable of travelling the Multiverse. The Darkhold also corrupted Maximoff's surroundings, destroying the plantation that Maximoff had behind her cabin and instead left a barren hellish landscape filled with the red glow of chaos magic.[2]

Visited by Doctor Strange[]

That November, Wanda Maximoff, after learning that she would be visited soon, cast an illusion over the barren landscape showing that the trees were alive and bearing apples, as well as sheep in the field. Doctor Strange soon arrived and found Maximoff plucking tree branches off the trees and putting them in buckets. He asked her for her help dealing with the Multiverse and stated he needed an Avenger, which she stated there was others he could ask. As they walked in the field, she accidentally let slip she knew of America Chavez. This caused Strange to deduce that she was the one sending inter-dimensional beings to apprehend Chavez. Maximoff lifted the illusion of the field, to reveal a horror landscape, filled with twisted trees, dead fields, and red mist. She then summoned the Darkhold, surprising Strange who recognized it. Maximoff asked if he knew about it, in which he told her that it corrupts anything that it touches, wondering what effect it had on her. Maximoff told him that it showed him the truth about her children and explained why she needed Chavez. Strange warned her that she was messing with reality in which she noted his hypocrisy regarding his role in the Infinity War. She gave him an ultimatum to bring Chavez to her or she would come as the Scarlet Witch to get her.[2]
