"Mario Hillbillies" is the twenty-third live-action segment of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. It is paired with the animated episode "Do You Princess Toadstool Take this Koopa...?."
Plot[]
Mario and Luigi are ready to go on a fishing trip and even have a worm pizza for bait but have to wait for their cousins, Mario Joe and Luigi Bob. Impatient to get going, the Marios leave a note for their cousins and leave. Their cousins arrive just as the Marios leave and raid the refrigerator.
Later Donna Douglas comes looking for the Marios so that they can sell her a faucet assembly. Luigi Bob and Mario Joe tell her that they are the Mario Bros. She invites them to a possum dinner and they leave with her. Mario and Luigi return glad that they didn't have to take their cousins to the plumber's hoedown.
Trivia/Goofs[]
- The Marios themselves never meet the guest star. Even in the final segment where they say "Do the Mario" it is their cousins that say it.
- When Luigi Bob reads the note, it is addressed to "Mario and Luigi Bob" rather than "Mario Joe and Luigi Bob".
