Cannon Pianta is a character who appears in Super Mario Sunshine. He is a mechanic specialized in fixing machinery, cannons in particular. The Cannon Pianta has dark purple skin and is covered in black stains, presumably from during when he was fixing the cannon.

In Super Mario Sunshine[]

Cannon Pianta is first encountered in Delfino Plaza. At first, he is fixing the Cannon leading to Pinna Park. If Mario talks to the Cannon Pianta, he predicts that it will take a while before the Cannon becomes available for Mario to use. The Cannon only becomes available by the time Shadow Mario takes Princess Peach to Pinna Park, after which the Cannon Pianta stands outside of it.
