- The effect of Deadly Balance will activate if the unit wielding it receives a 【Penalty】.
- The effect will not be negated if the unit wielding it receives a 【Bonus】.
- If the unit wielding it does not receive a 【Penalty】, or has their 【Penalty】 removed by a source of negative status effect neutralization, the effect will be negated.

- The stat decrease that can be applied by Deadly Balance is considered a temporary debuff.
- Only attacks performed by the foe have the "Special cooldown charge +X" effect. This is true regardless of who initiated combat.
- The "Special cooldown charge +X" effect will stack with the "Special cooldown charge -X" effect.
- For example, if a unit is affected by both Guard and Special Cooldown Charge +1, the effects will stack and the cooldown will go down without penalty or bonus.
- The effects will only stack when the foe attacks and the cooldown will go down without penalty or bonus.
- The "Special cooldown charge -X" effect will only take place when the user attacks.
- If used alongside another source of "Special cooldown charge +X", only the higher of the two charge increases will apply.
- This means that if a unit has two "Special cooldown charge +1" effects from two different sources, the battle will play out as if only one "Special cooldown charge +1" effect is active.
- Skills such as Spd/Def Tempo 4 and Spendy Scimitar will neutralize effects that grant "Special cooldown charge +X" to the foe.
- The "Special cooldown charge -X" effect will stack with the "Special cooldown charge +X" effect.
- For example, if a unit is affected by both Guard and Special Cooldown Charge +1, the effects will stack and the cooldown will go down without penalty or bonus.
- If used alongside another source of "Special cooldown charge -X", only the higher of the two charge reductions will apply.
- This means that if a unit has two "Special cooldown charge -1" effects from two different sources, the battle will play out as if only one "Special cooldown charge -1" effect is active.
- Skills such as Spd/Def Tempo 4 and Whirling Grace will neutralize effects that inflict "Special cooldown charge -X" on its user.
- Deadly Balance+ will neutralize non-Special "reduces damage by X%" effects from Specials such as Vital Astra.
- Deadly Balance+ will not neutralize Special "reduces damage by X%" effects such as Gust or Laguz Friend 4.

- Deadly Balance+ only targets Specials that activate before or during combat. Specials that activate after combat, such as Galeforce and Røkkr AoE Specials, will not trigger Deadly Balance+.
- Cooldown count changes from skills that activate at the same time as Deadly Balance+ (after combat) are not considered in Deadly Balance+'s conditions. Skills such as Special Spiral 4, Time's Pulse 4, and Pulse Smog will have their effects stack.
