Loquat^[2] (旋涡枇杷, lit. "Vortex Loquat"; pinyin: Xuánwō Pípá), also known as "Cycloque"^[3], is the first plant obtained in Sky City in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2. She draws in zombies from a 3x3 area around her tile, behaving similarly to a Sweet Potato. Upon being pulled in, the zombies can smack into each other, taking damage and stunning them (note that this only applies in in her home world as she deals no damage to zombies outside of Sky City). After a while, the zombies will return to their original tiles.

Origins[]

Loquat is based on the loquat (Eriobotrya japonica), a fruit from the Rosaceac family, which is native to China.

	Cell Activation 细胞活化	Loquat gains another 50% more attack power and health (200% of initial).

Note: Loquat cannot be upgraded to level 4.

Strategies[]

She can be used as weaker, aerial Cherry Bomb without her costume. She is a cheap way to dispose of threats such as Double-Cabin Aircraft Zombie. For some reason, outside of Sky City, she doesn't deal damage to zombies, which lowers her effectiveness.

One effective strategy is to use Loquat on a group of zombies, then use the Squash to squash all zombies on that tile. This works with Lava Guava as well, as he can burn all zombies there.

Loquats are also able to block the bullet attack of the Zombot Vulture Fighter, which can wipe the lawn clean if not blocked effectively. Additionally Loquats are the only way to prevent the Vulture Fighter's tornados from hitting your ship and destroying your plants.

Trivia[]

• She reuses Rotobaga's rotor texture.
  • She also reuses Hammer Zombie's sound effects when spinning.
• Even though she faces the left of the screen, she faces the right in her Puzzle Piece.
• For some reason, she is not considered as a "Flying plant" in her Plant features in the Almanac.
• The only way for a Loquat to die is if she’s hit by Onmyoji Zombie's tornados or if she’s flung off of the lawn by the shield from the Electromagnetic Shield Generator.
  • If a Loquat is defeated by these zombies while she’s pulling a different zombie, said zombie will be stunned forever.
• Ironically enough, while she affects and damages flying zombies in Sky City, flying zombies outside of the said world are completely immune from being pulled by Loquat. It’s unknown if this is intentional or unintentional.
