Blaze Leaf

When he sees zombies, he goes SPLAT!

Blaze Leaf is a premium plant in Plants vs. Zombies 2 introduced in the 11.8.1 update. He is a fire plant that deals damage to zombies in an approximate 3x3 area. Blaze Leaf is able to release a special attack every third attack, dealing damage across three lanes. This attack can either be fired left or right, depending on the direction it is facing.

His Blaze Wave attack can instantly kill critters, and is blocked by shield and Camel Zombies.

Origins[]

Though never explicitly stated, Blaze Leaf appears to be based on the flame lily (Gloriosa superba). This is likely the source of his fire abilities as well.

Plant Food effect[]

When given Plant Food, Blaze Leaf launches a swirling fiery wave of energy, damaging all the zombies on the lawn.

Pepper-mint effect[]

When boosted by Pepper-mint, Blaze Leaf will deal double damage with both his normal and wave attacks, an additional 250/350/450/550/650/750/850/950/1050/1250 damage with his Plant Food attack, his warming effect is increased as if he was at level 10.

Strategies[]

Even though this plant may seem useful at first, with abilities such as warming and aoe in a decent area, he’s massively outclassed by Snapdragon in almost every way besides his slightly better usage in Frostbite Caves and his great Plant Food ability having a board wide range, unlike Snapdragon's. As such, he needs extreme leveling before he has near any melee ability and cannot beat Snapdragon's wider array of usage, especially since Snapdragon can be levelled much easier due to having regularly obtainable seed packets and being unlocked for free early on. His backwards targeting still isn't useful, so don't consider that either.

Even if his Plant Food Effect is great, he still takes up a seed slot that could be used for plants that have a much wider array of use.

It is as such recommended to not use this plant unless you have him at least 4 levels Higher than Snapdragon, in which it's okay, but it is much better to use Snapdragon, Frost Bonnet, or other plants that do his job way better.
