Bamboo Trooper (突击竹兵; pinyin: tū​jī zhú bīng) is a plant added in the summer update of the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 as a part of Fairytale Forest Part 2.

Bamboo Trooper fires a short-lived, penetrating projectile that constantly damages and slows its targets while dealing double damage to obstacles.

Bamboo Trooper is based on the bamboo, an evergreen perennial flowering plant in the subfamily Bambuseae of the grass family Poaceae.

Upgrades[]

Plant Food[]

When fed Plant Food, Bamboo Trooper will fire three huge drill bullets in three directions, which is more powerful than penetrating bullets.

Costumed[]

When fed Plant Food, the explosion of the bullets will now stun zombies in a 3x3 area for about 4 seconds.

Level Upgrade[]

	Keep Spinning 保持旋转	The projectile now expires after four seconds. 钻头子弹的旋转能力加强，在钻了4秒后才会过热爆炸。
	Combat Training 战斗训练	Bamboo Trooper gains 50% more attack power and health (150% of initial).
	Still Spinning 继续旋转	The projectile now expires after five seconds. 保持旋转的技能效果提升100%，在钻了5秒后才会过热爆炸。
	Cell Activation 细胞活化	Bamboo Trooper gains another 50% more attack power and health (200% of initial).
	Ability Awaken 能力觉醒	Bamboo Trooper may be boosted when planted.
	Fighting Power 战斗能力	Bamboo Trooper gains another 50% more attack power and health (250% of initial).
	Can't Spin No More 转不动啦	Fires bigger projectiles that deal AOE damage on its tile when they expire. 突击竹兵发射的子弹升级成更大的钻头子弹，钻头持续时间结束时，最终的爆炸变成单格范围的爆炸。
	Fighting Power 战斗能力	Bamboo Trooper gains another 50% more attack power and health (300% of initial).

Strategies[]

Whilst Bamboo Trooper damage output doesn't seems that impressive, don't let it fool you: this plant crowd control and stalling capabilities are impressive even on level 1, allowing him to chip damage on stalled zombies, specially if there are 2 or more in the same lane. Even when he can only perfurate through 3 zombies at level 1, leveling it up Upgrades this number up to 5, allowing it to become even more effect at crowd control.

Since it goes unaffected by excavator and jester, you can freely use him in levels with them. However, beware of Hammer and Nunchaku zombies, as they are capable of deflecting his projectiles
