Objective[]

Mario has to travel around the galaxy while riding Yoshi up until they obtain a Power Star at the end.

On the Starting Planet, Mario or Luigi first have to defeat a Magikoopa on the Starting Planet so that the barrier surrounding the Yoshi Egg disappears, allowing them to free Yoshi from it. While riding Yoshi, Mario or Luigi has go across a mud path to reach a large berry, which can be uprooted by grabbing it with Yoshi's tongue and pulling back, revealing a Launch Star, which leads to the next planet.

On the second planet, Mario or Luigi has to find and break a crystal with a Launch Star that leads to the third planet.

The third planet has many vertical ledges that have to be jumped up and crossed, and Yoshi's Flutter Jump can go over ledges and other obstacles such as Prickly Plants. At the top is a Flower Grapple that Yoshi has to use to get to a planetoid with a Launch Star to the final planet.

The final planet has a series of upward-scaling platforms with Paragoombas and Spranglers in the gaps. There are a few instances where Yoshi's tongue is required to pull out certain platforms or to use Flower Grapples to reach higher ledges. At the top of the planet, Mario and Yoshi have to swing between Flower Grapples to reach the Power Star, which is trapped in a large crystal.
