Super Mario

Undergrunt Gunner is a recurring boss in Super Mario Galaxy and a regular enemy in Super Mario Galaxy 2, serving as regular flying cannons around Bowser and Bowser Jr.'s defenses that appear in both Super Mario Galaxy games. They appear to be based off of Water Shooters, Fire Shooters, and Electricity Shooters.

Appearances[]

The Undergrunt Gunner is a light blue Undergrunt that has tan on his stomach, checks and nose area, he also wears a light blue helmet with silver around it.

History[]

Super Mario Galaxy[]

The Undergrunt Gunner is known to be a boss in three different galaxies, Gold Leaf Galaxy, Toy Time Galaxy, and Deep Dark Galaxy.

Gold Leaf Galaxy[]

In Gold Leaf Galaxy, it appears in the mission is "When it Rains, it Pours.", serving as the main boss of that Galaxy, is the first boss the Engine Room and is overall the fourteenth (fifteenth if counting the Mandibug Stack) boss of the game. One of the Bees complained to Mario that the "mean mole" took their deck.

In the battle, Undergrunt Gunner is shooting bubbles from his Bubble Cannon, the bubble won't do damage, but they can push the Player(s) at afar dictents.

Strategy[]

To beat him, the Player(s) must avoid bubbles by going behind the wall. Bee Mario can fly over him and pound on the glass to attack him. He is still vulnerable when playing as normal Mario, when jumping further. The longer Mario stays on top off him, the more his rage and spinning will increase. When enraged, he shoots bubbles rapidly. After finished off, his machine explodes resulting the Power Star to be given.

Toy Time Galaxy[]

The Undergrunt Gunner later appears in Toy Time Galaxy as the second/final boss of that Galaxy, is the third/third-to-last boss of the Engine Room and is overall the sixteenth(seventeenth if counting the Mandibug Stack) He now uses the electric machine that now shoots electric energy balls that are slower then the water bubbles, but they can home in on the Player(s), the Cannon that causes damage and he is on a higher level making it difficult ground pounding his machine.

Strategy[]

The strategy remains basically the same as it was in the previous fight, the Player(s) must get to the top pf the Undergrunt Gunner's cannon and do a ground-pound in order to deal damage, Mario should use the Spring Mushroom to jump higher and then Mario can ground pound him. This should be repeated three times to be rewarded the Power Star.

Deep Dark Galaxy[]

The Undergrunt Gunner re-appears in Deep Dark Galaxy in the Water Cannon like previously, it serves as the main boss of that Galaxy, is the second/third-to-last boss of the Garden, and is overall the twentieth(twenty-first if counting the Mandibug Stack) boss of the game.

Strategy[]

The strategy remains the same, tho this battle is noticeably easier then the first two battles, as the Undergrunt Gunner no longer in a tall platform-like area, and is low enough that the Player(s) can simply to a triple-jump and reach the top of the Undergrunt Gunner with ease, tho another easier strategy is to fling Coconuts at the boss from a dissents while using an umbrella as to avoid the water bubbles.

Trivia[]

  • The Undergrunt Gunner is the first and only boss of Super Mario Galaxy to re-appear in the same area in another Galaxy.
