The Minion Pigs, also known as the Bad Piggies,[1] are characters that appear in the Angry Birds series. They are ordinary pigs of varying sizes and inhabitants of the Piggy kingdom on Piggy Island. Despite being mostly clueless and incompetent, they are surprisingly creative, and tend to work as the engineers of the regime, although their structures and vehicles are often very fragile and collapse easily.
The Minion Pigs are in the lowest rank of the Piggy kingdom society and make up the majority of its population. Lacking basic rights, the Minions are constantly exploited as the workforce or military of the regime, but are nevertheless content with their lives. Although they do not like fighting, the Minion Pigs carry out their superiors' orders without question, forcing them into the kingdom's ongoing conflict with the Angry Birds.[1][2] The pigs often face strong punishments for dissidence, including deportation from the Piggy kingdom; for this reason, many Minion Pigs are also found on Golden Island, where they work for another regime ruled by Gale.
Appearance[]
The minion pigs appear as round pigs with lime skin. They have a medium-sized snout with two small ears on their heads. They have a corkscrew-like tail in their backs. They were slightly redesigned in Angry Birds Chrome whereas they look more cartoony. In Angry Birds Toons they appear to be more green than lime, and their tails are more visible.
Personality[]
These cheery green guys get a bad rap. For all of the demonization they receive from the birds, they've got a lot going for them. They're ingenious engineers and inventors, they have a healthy (although silly and immature) sense of humor, they never let anything get them down. However, under the rule of Leonard, their best qualities are weaponized against the birds, making them a serious threat. But you have to admit, they are kinda cute.

Angry Birds Toons[]
Minion Pigs are featured as one of the main antagonists in the Angry Birds Toons series and makes multiple appearances in many of the episodes, sometimes the subject on their own. The series shows more depth to the Minion Pigs as characters and their interests other than what the games have shown us.
A notable role is in Golditrotters where one minion pig named the same name said goodbye to her grandma (Professor Pig) before gleefully prancing in the forest at the start of the story. Just after starting her trek, she noticed a big house. She went into it and noticed three bowls of oatmeal. She decided to try them all out. The first bowl of oatmeal was too hot (causing her to breathe fire and burn the bowl), and the second one was too cold (causing her hair and tongue to freeze). However, the third one was just right (she even eats part of the bowl itself).
Golditrotters walked into a room with three slingshots, and tried them all out. The first slingshot was too elastic ("she" got spun around and bucked her off), and the second one was too stiff (it broke). However, the third one was just right ("she" even broke most of the room). After feeling exhausted from breaking the room (which "she" did not noticed), "she" instead found three nestbeds and once again tried them all out. The first nestbed was too big (it nearly suffocated "her"), the second one was too small, but the third one was just right, and "she" happily slept on it for an extended time.
Soon, when Golditrotters woke up, "she" noticed three evil beasts resembling Red, Matilda, and one of The Blues. They were really angry after what "she" had done to their stuff in their house. Frightened, "she" jumped out the window, left the three monster birds' house, and ran back to "her" own house. Opening and shutting the door, "she" then sighed in relief. But, to make matters worse, Terence was on "her" grandma's bed. He then suddenly started to stare at Golditrotters which scared "her" to death.
Piggy Tales[]
Minion Pigs are featured as the main protagonists in the Piggy Tales series and makes multiple appearances in all of the episodes. The series shows more depth to the Minion Pigs as characters and their interests other than what the games and other media have shown us.
Angry Birds Stella[]
The minion pigs appear as one of the main antagonists in the angry birds Stella series. Ultimately, the minion pigs in this show are completely harmless- and would remain as so if they weren't always trying to appeal Gale, the bad princess.

Angry Birds Slingshot Stories[]
Minion Pigs are one of the main characters in the series. They use their Toons, Piggy Tales and Stella Toons design in this series.
Book Appearances[]
Angry Birds: Mystery of the Green Bird[]
The first sign of Pig activity we get is when a Minion spy overhears Matilda talking about a possible new bird on the island. We later see large amounts of Minions when the scout reports back to King Pig. Chef Pig swiftly creates a plan to send a Minion disguised as a bird into The Flock's camp in order to steal The Eggs. The King selects one small, unfortunate Minion to carry out the heist. Traditional minions are absent for the remainder of the book.
Angry Birds: Mystery of the Lost Treasure[]
Despite being on the cover, and general expectations for a piece of Angry Birds media, the pigs have a very small role, and act more like an obstacle than an antagonist. They only appear in a single scene, where Chuck runs into a pig-operated fort, and has to sneak past a large quantity of sleeping Minion Pigs on his way to acquire a treasure. Chuck's mission is made significantly easier by The Blues running ahead of him and plugging the pigs' ears with moss, preventing them from hearing Chuck.

Angry Birds: Stella and the Hunt for the Jade Egg[]
As with most of their appearances, the Minion Pigs are an ever-present threat. The plot of the book involves the Piggy kingdom stealing a pendant belonging to Matilda, mistaking it for an Egg. While Chef Pig is cooking The Jade Egg, Stella and Bubbles, disguised as Minion Pigs themselves, sneak into the city to retrieve it. They manage to talk their way past the first set of Minion Pigs guarding the door, but the Minion they ask about The Jade Egg proves to be far more intelligent than they were prepared for. The Minion not only see's through their disguise, but is able to spot inconsistencies in their fabricated stories. The two are able to lose the Minion, but the perceptive pig raises the alarm. The Minions are unable to locate Stella or Bubbles, with a color-blind Minion accusing other Minions of being the birds, adding to the confusion.
The duo are able to retrieve The Jade Egg from Chef Pig, but are initially unable to make an escape, as the Minion Pigs shut the doors to the city. Chef Pig orders the minions after them, and they're just barely able to escape when Bubbles inflates, allowing him and Stella to clear the wall. The minions pour out of the city and give chase, nearly catching Stella and Bubbles before an onslaught of rocks curtesy of The Blues stops the oncoming Pig army.
Angry Birds: Bomb's Best Birthday[]
A small group of minions cameo at the very end of the book, about to be caught in the crossfire of Bomb's birthday-induced explosion.
Angry Birds: Cheer Up, Chuck![]
A group of Minion Pigs are seen aiding Corporal Pig by steeling trash that Chuck fishes up to use to procure The Eggs. The story ends with their plot failing as usual after a fight with The Flock.
Angry Birds: Stella and the Egg Tree[]
Minion Pigs are seen across the book. Several of them populate King Pig's throne room, and a group of them tag along with Corporal Pig during his egg-napping attempt.
Angry Birds: Red And The Great Fling-Off[]
During Corporal Pig's ploy to use the Great Fling-Off as a distraction in order to nab The Eggs, the three Minions accompanying him are the ones who hold The Eggs proper. When Red and Chuck discover this plan, having slept late and missing the Fling-Off, the pigs' plan falls apart, and the egg-thieves receive a thrashing from the birds.
Angry Birds: Captain Badburger[]
The first Minion Pig we see in the book is Rickets, an old lighthouse keeper, panicking about a small boat moving past his lighthouse. This boat happens to belong to Captain Badburger, and gets sent out to find people and bring them to the Saucy Pickle in order to be added to Badburger's crew. Rickets is relieved to see the boat pass him by.
We later see traditional Minions act as messengers for King Pig, who uses them to keep tabs on his plan to use Badburger to steal The Eggs. When the King's double agent, Captain Bigbeard, is outed as a spy, it's revealed that his crew were all Minion Pigs dressed as pirates.
Angry Birds: The Attack of The Monster[]
A cluster of Minions are first seen knocking Matilda unconscious while exiting their hiding spot on a tree. The Minions stuff the unresponsive hen into a burlap sack and bring her back to Pig City as a captive. Unfortunately for all involved, Matilda goes missing, and is replaced by a large monster. The Minion Pigs' attempt to keep it confined to the dungeon fail, and the beast breaks free from it's prison. We last see an army of Minion Pigs being tossed around like sports balls by the creature before it turns it's attention to the newly arrived Birds.
Angry Birds: The Tale of a Featherless Friend[]
Minion Pigs appear consistently throughout The Tale of a Featherless Friend. They first appear as onlookers when The Featherless Friend is catapulted out of Pig City, and then later reappear on patrol in order to reclaim him from The Flock. They are defeated by Stella, who uses bubbles to send blobs of mud at the Minion Pigs, disorienting them.
