Background[]
Denvik was once member of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars alongside Bode Akuna, who became a mentor to the latter he. Later during the reign of the Empire he was later sought out by his old colleague in hopes of working for him in exchange for protection from the Inquisitorius. He agreed to the deal, and kept Bode and his daughter, Kata Akuna, hidden from the Inquisitors in exchange for Bode's loyalty.
Eventually he sent Bode after Cal Kestis and his crew in hopes of eventually capturing them. Kestis was a target of great interest to the Empire. He also sent him was to find Cere Junda, who operated the secretive Hidden Path network to safeguard Force-sensitives and sympathizers from the Empire. Denvik also had clandestine plans to destroy her Archives and Junda within the next few months.
Jedi: Survivor[]
Once the lost world of Tanalorr was rediscovered, a location the Empire could not cross into without certain instruments, Bode seized on the chance to escape to the planet with Kata. That meant leaving the Empire behind, which was Bode's eventual goal. Bode seized the last remaining compass to activate the arrays and relayed Junda's location, the Jedi Archives on the moon Jedha, to the attention of Darth Vader.
After Vader destroyed the Archives and Kestis escaped Jedha with his crew, he traveled to II-0810 Satellite Station where Bode went to retrieve his daughter. Kestis confronted Denvik and told him to lift the station lockdown, and found out Bode was operating as Denvik's personal agent. He was then subsequently accused of sending Vader to attack the Jehda archives that resulted in the deaths of Jedi Master Eno Cordova and Junda. Surprised by this revelation, Denvik quickly realized that Bode had betrayed him and attempted to warn his subordinates, only for Kestis to aggressively use the Force to hold him. In desperation, Denvik told Kestis that Bode purposely lured him to his outpost to kill him, but was knocked out, before Kestis stole a spare uniform to continue his search for Bode.
Denvik regained consciousness however Purge Troopers was already engaged in combat with his men, and futilely ordered as Akuna's starfighter shot down as Bode escaped the station with his daughter. He then personally went down to the hangar to confront Kestis and Merrin and attempted to shoot the Jedi but Kestis quickly subdued him. Fearing his own execution by Vader, the Imperial attempted to goad Kestis into ending his life. In his anger and grief, Kestis used the Force to start crushing the Imperial from the inside. Merrin talked Kestis out of revenge, not wanting the Empire to take his soul like it did Junda and everything else the two had lost. Kestis relented and left Denvik to face whomever Vader sent. Shortly thereafter, Denvik was eventually killed in his office by Vader.
