The Tatootine Aqualish Family are recurring antagonists in The Book of Boba Fett. Garfalaquox led this crime family on Tatooine during the New Republic era and ruled the Worker's District. They were also secretly allied with the Pyke Syndicate.
History[]
After Jabba the Hutt died before the fall of the Galactic Empire, Garfalaquox and the rest of the Aqualish family left Jabba's criminal empire when Jabba's majordomo, Bib Fortuna, claimed to be the heir. They then took control of Mos Espa's Worker's District and ruled it during the New Republic era.
But when Jabba's former bounty hunter henchman, Boba Fett, returned to Jabba's palace with Fennec Shand and killed Bib Fortuna and his henchmen, the head of the Aqualish family, Garfalaquox, came to meet Boba Fett and brought him a gift of credits as a sign of friendship.
Later, Boba invited the heads of the Aqualish family, the Trandoshan family, and the Klatooinian family to the palace to propose working together to stop the Pyke Syndicate, but they refused and Boba suggested they remain neutral in case the Pyke Syndicate tried to trick them into betraying them, and they agreed when Boba Fett announced his intention to defeat the Pyke Syndicate on his own.
But when the battle for Mos Espa began, the Aqualish family and the rest of the crime family allowed the Pyke Syndicate forces to roam freely within Boba Fett's Gotra, until during the battle, they and the other crime families betrayed Boba's empire. The battle was fierce, but the soldiers of the Aqualish family and other Mos Espa crime families were defeated, and when Fennec Shand killed Garfalaquox, the heads of the other Mos Espa crime families, Mok Shaiz and the Pyke boss, Mos Espa and all the rest of Tatooine were saved from the Pyke Syndicate's spice trade.
