The Cycron is a Corpus plasma
Radiation beam pistol with a battery that automatically regenerates ammo after the user stops firing for a second.
This weapon can be sold for 5,000.
Characteristics[]
- This weapon deals primarily
Radiation damage.
- Damage ramps up from 30% to 100% over 0.6 seconds when firing. After firing stops for 0.8 seconds, the damage decays back to 30% over 2 seconds.
- Does not use ammo pickups; ammo regenerates over time.
- Has a 1 second delay after the weapon stops firing before regenerating ammo.
- Regenerates 40 ammo per second; takes 1 second to regenerate a fully depleted battery.
- Does not benefit from mods that increase maximum ammo, due to lack of an ammo pool.
- Does not benefit from reload-triggered mods such as
Pressurized Magazine.
- Has a 1 second delay after the weapon stops firing before regenerating ammo.
- Innate 1 meter punch through.
Advantages over other Secondary weapons (excluding modular weapons):
- Fourth highest status chance of all continuous secondaries, behind the
Tenet Cycron,
Embolist and
Kuva Nukor.
- Pinpoint accuracy.
Magnum Force's accuracy penalty is minimal on this weapon.
- Consumes 0.5 ammo per tick of damage.
- Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
- Above average magazine (40)
- High fire rate (12.00 attacks/sec)
- High status chance (30.00%)
Disadvantages over other Secondary weapons (excluding modular weapons):
- Range limited to 24 meters.
- Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
- Below average crit chance (12.00%)
- Low reload speed (2.00 s)
- Low total damage (23)
- Very low ammo max (0)
- Below average crit multiplier (1.80x)
See WARFRAME Wiki:Stat Comparison/Percentiles for more details.
Comparisons:
Cycron (Normal Attack), compared to
Tenet Cycron (Normal Attack):
- Higher base damage per projectile (23.00 vs. 22.00) (excluding any Progenitor bonus)
- Lower total damage (using max +60% Progenitor bonus if applicable) (23 vs. 35.2)
- Lower base critical chance (12.00% vs. 20.00%)
- Lower base status chance (30.00% vs. 40.00%)
- Lower average damage per tap (using max +60% Progenitor bonus if applicable) (25.20 vs. 40.83)
- Lower burst DPS (using max +60% Progenitor bonus if applicable) (302.49 vs. 489.98)
- Lower sustained DPS (using max +60% Progenitor bonus if applicable) (208.61 vs. 376.91)
- Slower reload time (2.00 s vs. 1.50 s)
- Lower Mastery Rank required (8 vs. 14)
- Higher disposition (●●●●○ (1.20x) vs. ●●○○○ (0.70x))

Notes[]
- Similar to Ramparts and all Archguns, ammo starts to automatically regenerate after 1 seconds of not firing the weapon. This regeneration delay is affected by reload speed mods like
Quickdraw and
Stunning Speed. The regeneration rate is 40 ammo per second.
- The reload speed can also be increased passively with
Chroma, by using a Toxin-based
Elemental Ward or being under the effect of
Speed or
Penance.
- The reload speed can also be increased passively with
- The Cycron's beam has a maximum range of 24 meters.
- This makes the Cycron an excellent weapon for multiple elemental builds as its innate Radiation status and a high status chance for other elemental procs allow it to take down enemies quickly with procs alone.
- Even if equipped with
Eject Magazine, the Cycron will not bypass its 1-second regeneration delay when holstered. Instead, the mod will simply accelerate the rate at which ammo is regenerated when holstered, once the delay is over.
- Because the 40 shots count as part of a single magazine rather than an ammo pool, mods like
Trick Mag have no effect.
Trivia[]
- The Cycron is the first weapon to use the ammo regeneration mechanic outside of Archwing.
- Corpus script
is written on the side of the gun, spelling "BCDE KLMNO VW YZ".

Patch History[]
Update 33.0 (2023-04-26)
- The following weapons can now be found in their corresponding categories in the Arsenal when searching using the tag “Battery”:
- Cycron
Hotfix 32.0.2 (2022-09-08)
- Ammo Changes & Review:
When we were reviewing ammo acquisition as a whole for Update 32, we felt weapons with Ammo Regen Rate Overrides, or “Battery,” in particular, needed a place within the ecosystem of change we had established. That said, upon review of feedback, we recognize we were a bit heavy-handed with the changes we made to Battery weapons. We have restored their original values for the time being while we reassess how we can better approach these weapons.
We have restored the original values for the following weapons:
- Cycron:
- Returned ammo regen rate to 40/s from 20/s
Update 32.0 (2022-09-07)
- Ammo Changes
We understand the power fantasy of these weapons is very popular for some, so our first approach was to keep them powerful, but limit how often they can be used by making changes to ammo pick-up.
Ammo Pickup Overrides
The following weapons now have ammo pickup overrides, meaning they gain less from picking up ammo. This mostly applies to AoE weapons, in hopes that players will become more deliberate with their aim to make the most of their Ammo pools. The following lists the specific ammo pick up overrides per weapon category.
Secondary Weapons with Ammo Regen Rates Overrides:
- Cycron: From 40/s to 20/s
Hotfix 27.0.7 (2019-12-20)
- Fixed Cycron not recharging correctly.
Update 22.20 (2018-05-17)

Update 22.15 (2018-03-07)

Hotfix 22.14.2 (2018-03-02)
- Fixed Beam weapons not doing damage if you ran Warframe at roughly 10 FPS or less.
- Fixed Beam weapons not being able to damage enemies affected by a crowd controlled Warframe ability for Clients.

- All Beam weapons now start their Damage ramp up at 20% (instead of 10%).
- The Multishot chance should now apply more consistently with Beam weapons.
- Fixed Beam weapons continuously firing when quick Meleeing.
